Hi friends,
When you are planning for a short trip for a day, in that case, how will you plan your lunch..
Do you prepare it by yourself or you plan outside?
Myself, I don't prepare myself, as it was a short excursion, I don't take such lunch packages, because, it makes me uncomfortable to carry those things.. I very well plan outside.... because, in many restaurants we get different dishes.. so that we can have a small taste over some dishes...
What do you say??

Hi,
It depends, sometimes, we take a packed lunch with us, and have a picnic, which is nice.
Most of the time though, we will go to a restaurant, or cafeteria, for a meal, or, we will get fish and chips, and eat them out of the paper, down by the sea....that is terrific, they taste so good, out of the paper...

Er~~in my point of view, I'd rather find a local restaurant than take simple meal by myself in my packet. For the reason that as long as on a trip even one day long, it should be as local as possible. Eating the food there, enjoying the local fun there, and you don't have to bother the big and heavy bag on your back with your lunch in it.

for me it all depends where we are going. If we are going to place where we know there are good eating joints which cater to the taste of my family we would prefer eating out otherwise i would prepare food which can survive the weather conditions and would remain healty to eat after a several hours and pack them seperately for each member going out along with disposables so that they can eat whenever they choose to.

It really depends on what I am doing for that day trip, if I am fairly busy and have no time to relax. I tend to eat out. If I know I will have extra time, I will pack something and take it along. Parks are great to stop to have lunch in.

we always bring snacks and drinks with us to cut back on expenses but we usually stop for at least one meal at a restaurant if we are out on a day trip. usually it will be lunch if we are out the whole day and we would have eaten breakfast at home before we left.

I prefer to eat foods I myself prepare. I am very choosy and very health conscious so my food preparation is really different from those prepared commercially. So whether be it just one day trip or long trip I always make sure I myself prepared the food for myself and for my family.

For us, it really depends on the circumstances surrounding the day trip that we are taking. An example is, if we are going for a family hike, we will typically pack a lunch in the cooler and eat it at either the beginning or the end of the hike. However, if we are going on a trip to another city, then we will usually find a restaurant to eat at that isn't a large chain restaurant, something that we don't have at home and enjoy a special lunch/dinner as a family. Really, one of my favorite things about traveling is the fact that we are able to enjoy food that we don't have at home.

The most convenient is to eat out. As Malaysia is very rich in hawker fare, you can stop any where for a bite. If you are traveling on the toll ways, they are so many service areas that provides food courts. So of them sell satay which is good.Others even have Big Macs, Dunkin' Doughnuts, A & W and KFCs. So, no hassle if you do not bring you own food.
However, if you are going to some Muslim states during the fasting month in Malaysia, prepare some food. Most food outlets are disallowed from opening during fasting hours. Some non-Muslim joints do open but they prepare only a small portion of food. Once they finished selling, they close early. The last time I was in Kelantan, I had to go to the market to buy fruits to eat!

hi arunmails^^;;
it depends on where would i go. if the place to go will be on a town/city and surely i know there would be some place to eat then i would not bother to pack for lunch but i will still bring some snacks incase that i will be hungry before we can find a nice restaurant to dine.
but if we are like traveling for places like parks, i would prefer to prepare and pack some food since i would love to do the picnic with nature.
have a nice day

i really depends where i go. before the trip, i usually ask about certain details and it surely includes where i would be feeding myself, lol. if there are restaurants in the area, i prefer not to cook and bring food for ease. i don't need to carry a big heavy bag for that. if i go to a town, perhaps, where there are no available restaurants, i have to endure carrying the bag of food ... lest i go hungry, lol.

A one day tour means to visit others so i in such situations give importance to food also...The tours provide us an opportunity to mingle with others and to know others their food is also almost needed ,, To some people it might not be easy to digest a foreign one ... But it have its own taste and aroma representing that particular area..........so one should not miss such a chance

If I will have a short trip for a day,it depends on who people you will go together, if I go to a short trip with my friends, we will prepare some foods to grill, because grill will bring happiness, increase the mood, relationship with your friends.

hi arunmails I usually just stop at a cafe somewhere'
and get a quick lunch so I do not have to carry around
a brown bag lunch. I got enough of that when I was
working in the library of having to carry a brown
bag filled with my lunch each day I worked. so on
a day trip I would treat myself to lunch out in a'
favorite cafe.

We usually plan to eat one meal out and pack the rest unless it's a trip out in the woods, then we pack all our meals because you can't always count on finding a good place to buy food.
