how do they expect me to get to work if they wont let me pay the car payment??

ok i recently went to the town hall for assistance this ONE time on my mortgage.. I was out of work a while due to an injury and i just couldnt come up with all the money for my mortgage.. town agreed to help me this one time IF i didnt pay my car payment, my telephone and i only spent 100 for the month of groceries..?!?!? WHAT? they say that a vehclepayment isnt an nesccity, um how am i to get the 45 minutes to work to make the money to pay my bills if i dont pay my car payment?? 100 dollrs on food for a family of 6 for one month.. yea right has this women evn been tothe grocey store in the last year??? my telephone is a nesscity as well, i have doctors an a grandkid in schoo plus my second job is an on call job ON CALL hello CALL.. she didnt say anything about not paying the internet bill though?? does that make any sense??? They say tha they help and i have never needed it before .. now that i neeed it it seems like its going to put me further behind if i take it!!

I wouldn't take it. It seems like the people in town hall are out of touch with reality. However, not paying your mortgage can be an issue too. Here is what I'd do:
Get together a list of all the things in your house that you need.
Put together a budget of how much it would cost to have these things.
Provide some reasonings as to why you need these things.
After you get this list together go back to town hall and present your case again. If they still won't agree then you are better off not taking the money from town hall and pursue alternate means.
Do you have any family members that can lend you the money? If so you should work up a written contract. By writing a written contract to borrow money from your family they are more likely to feel that you are serious about paying them back and not just mooching off of their generosity.

yes that is a very good itdea. An i am sure if the town doesnt help even so after the fact that my family would be willing to help we always have eachothers back. I helped most of them out tremendoulsy a few years back and if i ever needed them to return the favor im sure they would! thank you the budget thing was a great idea!
