Hiking Trails

This has got to be my favorite time of year. The leaves are changing colors and the air is cool and crisp. It is for us the perfect hiking weather and we have been taking advantage of it every chance we get. We have small children right now so have not taken any serious hikes through the mountains but we do day trips that bring us to some lovely spots. Anyone else love to hike and where do you like to go?

Now i jealous, when i lived in northern jersey on the n.y. state border we made a weekend of watching the changing colors all the way and in Pennsylvania, farm markets, cider, pumpkins its not like that here in FLORIDA. we have a place in the Georgia mountains that we go to but i like the north east a lot better.

Yeah well us Jersey brats like our autumnal season...lol... my brother is in Fl and comes up each year just so he can get a few fall days in fishing, and picking stuff. FL is nice but it is different from where we grew up that's for sure.

Lovely Spot - This is found in the Northern part of the Philippines. Once considered a far flung areas, but now the road is open. I love this place...
Cool! You love hiking!!! How could I not love hiking, when in fact, I was born in a place where we need to hike for 3 hours before reaching our provincial capitol! When it's raining people are so pitiful hiking without booths. Thanks God for the politics and the good weather! May 10, 2010 was the first time I went home riding a public transportation. What can you say about this photo?

This is my second favorite time of year after Spring. Love the cooler weather, just don't like it getting dark so soon. We haven't done much hiking this year and we are so near places where we can hike. The last long-ish one we took was at the Grand Canyon last December and before that was at Yosemite the previous June. But were talking one mile each way type stuff, not all day hikes or anything. The kids are just getting to the right age though...

We live in Southern California and it's still a little too warm to hike. DH and I love to hike as well. We hike most often in Claremont Wilderness Park which is very close to home but my favorite place to hike is in Washington state in Olympic National Park. We're taking a trip up there next week and we can't wait to hit the trails. Happy hiking

I actually don't hike. I would love to though! I think it would be neat. To enjoy hiking trails. I used to. But never how I wanted to. It was with other people when I went. When I go into nature I would like to go alone, or go with another nature enthusiast. Not necessarily with my family, who I simply know, and do not share any real affinity for the same things with. But I have read in the past a nature centered book written by woman it was a compilation of their hiking stories. And it was really good. It really inspired me. They were creative. There was one story of a girl who stopped at a cabin which catered to hospitality and hikers use, and she stripped of her clothes and lay on a warm rock. This really got my attention.
