hehe:) oral presentation ! I first learn this word from the "TOEFL" test listening material. see? how things are different in education in each country. we almost don't have this presentation stuff. But if we had this, I think I would be very willing and ready to do this. I think this is fun because before the presentation, you have to make full preparations, revisions time after time until you are satisfied with your work. And I think this activity encourages students to speak out their opinion, even improves classmate relationship. It's a very good source to let people know more about you and your idea, your way of thinking, your personality and character. It's better than being obscure for a whole term at least. If you are good at this, I think you would be somebody in your class and soon become a focus. I'd like to be a focus in this way.

Hi, I think I have the same feeling with you on oral presentation. I try to avoid it. But sometimes, they are unavoidable. Everytime before the oral presentation, I told myself, be relaxed, be relaxed. It doesn't work. I am still in nervous.

hi there. firstly, congrats that u'll be going back to school. perhaps these would help a bit. if u have any idea what u're about to say to the crowd, try practicing infront of the mirror. this would be an opportunity for u to correct any gestures or remove the stuttering while talking and also to avoid the fillers like ummm...err.. the nervous part actually comes in when u're there on stage. some people tend to get their strength from friends and family who are also watching but if not, try to look beyond the audiences' heads and pretend like u are looking at them but not. u were just looking at the wall. so u wont get distracted and focus on what u are saying. hey, school is supposed to be fun! good luck and enjoy!

I have never taught before but I have joined this website where you have to teach your students orally through the microphone. I too have the fear of oral presentations and I am still on the way to overcoming my discomfort. But it is a lot of fun When you overcome your fear. So just go ahead and do it. There is also no harm in letting your audience know that you are a little nervous. Best of luck to you.

I would say I'm in the middle. Haha. Sometimes I would be very scared but sometimes I would be just okay. For me, it depends on the content of material and on the professor. I just don't feel comfortable speaking in the front of the whole class when the professor in that subject is too strict of everything. It makes me nervous that sometimes I don't know what I'm doing. The words just come out of my mouth or something. Haha. But when I have come to prepare for it and I know that the professor won't humiliate me or anything, I only think of it as a casual discussion, wherein I explain the topics I'm suppose to explain, then I'd have to answer certain questions that my professor asks. I think it depends on my mood too. Haha. Have a good day! :)

Hey Swadey!!!! Congrads!!! on going back to school!!! Know that you have an advantage over your soon to be classmates...it's called E X P E R I E N C E. When I was in college, I registered for a Public Speaking class. The best advice I received from my professor was that it is less stressful if you speak from what you know. Use your experiences and you will find presenting your Oral Presentations less scary. Hope this helps. Ceejaymony

i am used to do lots of oral presentations since i am dealing with them everyday.also, that's the nature of my work. i face 300 people almost everyday and i can't see any problem with that. just allow thoughts to flow and have them come out of your mouth. don't entertain questions when you're still in the midst of your discussion.have the forum after.

How do I deal with oral presentations? First, I get butterflies in my stomach. Second, my palms start sweating. Third, my breathing gets faster. Finally, I have an all-out panic attack, which normally gets me out of having to stand up in front of the class. I'm being facetious, but yeah, I get nervous whenever I have to do something like that. It's never been one of my favorite things to do.

Hey Swadey I am sure many of us don't like to give oral presentations, i am that kind of person myself, i don't like to speak in public either, i am really bad at it but if i have to i do it sternly, i mean i look like a very serious fellow when i have to do something like that, i dunno but i think it helps me at times, i just harden myself and get a i don't give a damn kind of attitude and do or say what i have to . . . i have absolutely no humour when i speak in public . . . i just do what i have to do and finish it soon, i am not like with friends though . . . . all the best Swadey! have a nice day!

I love oral presentations. Whenever i was given a chance I'd utilized it fully. It's the best way to let people know that you have what it takes to impress a crowd. One should take it in the positive spirit by thinking that it's a great opportunity to step up and be recognized. Also a little tip, just have this in your mind that you are going to teach the guys a thing or two, and have that dominance in your presentation. It becomes a piece of cake.

I don't like oral presentations either. But I think that it's a good way to strengthen your knowledge. In order to give others a good presentation, I have to accumulate a lot of related materials and sort them out. It is always said that the best way to learn something is to teach it to others. In such process I could understand the knowledge further. It's normal that most of us would be nervous when we stand before the crowd. My view is that the better you prepare for the presentation, the better you behave. After finishing several oral presentations, you would become quite accustomed to them and have confidence. I still remember the first time I gave oral presentation. Though staying in an air-conditioned room, I was sweating continuously and bumbled through my presentation. But for the second time I could do it much better.

I definitely hate oral presentations. In fact, I have to do one close to the end of this month. I get very nervous. My voice sounds like I'm riding on a bumpy road too. I have no choice but to do it though. Last semester I was supposed to do one but I got so nervous that the teacher didn't make me do it. She later told me that I looked like I was about to vomit so she didn't want to put me through that. I wish all teachers were like her.

Don't be scared with the oral presentations in your school because you can realize somehow when you are going to apply for work. It is very much applicable and try to nurture those oral presentations because it's a practice to gain confident.

I don't like the oral presentations, sometimes I scard to do that. When I apply a new job, and the original condition was that you need to make a oral introduction, I will feel nervous and don't know what I can start. Swadey, you are student, I suggest you to learn to do oral presentations without any scared, because it's most important when you come to society.

I feel scared when I am about to do a presentation in front of a class, then when I step up to the podium and look at the crowd, I see my friends, and people that I know. Then it is not so hard to do the speech because I know every one will like it, or they will be so bored that they fall asleep and don't tell me how bad I did.
