Do You Take Me Seriously?

From time to time, not too often, I post made up, ridiculous discussions that most people see for what they are. Trivial nonsense. I write about fictional universities undertaking the most ridiculous research; about the ancestral home - P1ke Towers and our problems with car parking and maintenance. It's all the product of an over active imagination people. I don't mean to offend anybody when I write these things. However I am genuinely concerned that an increasing number of people actually believe the rubbish that I write. So do you always believe what I write and take me seriously. Should I start typing SPOOF on my discussions?

I haven't read enough of your discussions to have seen "those". Or if I did I don't remember them. I think we are fairly new to responding to eachothers discussions. I will have to go check them out to see if they come across as "believable" or not.
But, in the meantime, if you really have a lot of people misunderstanding them, you MAY want to put some type of "disclaimer" or "notice" at the top.
That is, unless you happen to be amused by the fact that some people actually believe the stuff is real! Then you could just continue going on about it the way you have been and just enjoy a laugh about people who are fooled.

Hi Miamilady...I just have to step in here for a moment to let you know that I think I am the one that came up with the interest of P1kefish Fan Club...you see P1key has so many women in his harem that it became necessary to start a P1kefish Fan Club!!

Of course I ALWAYS take you seriously and I NEVER use sarcasm, nopey no. ;)
I can see why people who aren't familiar with you would take some of your posts seriously. I tend to be taken far too seriously by certain people and not seriously at all by others.

Oh, Pikey, I'm so upset. I thought all your discussions were meant to be taken seriously. How can I cope knowing that I have bared my soul in answer to such discussions as Hello Beardy and other deep and meaningful questions posed by you.
If you always used the word 'salt' in any spoof discussion, maybe, just maybe, people as evian as me would not be taken in.

I am very gullible and don't get a joke if it's presented seriously. However, it's nearly impossible for you to offend me. 
Sometimes, half a day after I reply to one of your posts, it will hit me that you couldn't possibly be serious and I'll feel kind of stupid but then I think of you laughing and it makes me chuckle.

I feel as though I have been seriously decieved by this... I am not sure if I will be able to take any of your discussions now seriously.. even when meant to be!!!
darn, could that mean others do this as well???... I better stop taking things so serious and maybe consider this!!!
ummm, I am curious since you have posted this... has someone commented on one of your discussions not realizing that some of the posts may be just for the fun of it?? 
I will take this as a learning lesson for future reference in my postings!!!

Oh no P1key, I don't take a word of what you write as serious, I Know you are full of something that comes from Bulls so as far as I am concerned you Never have to type SPOOF on any of your discussions!! BUT! you May consider typing "THIS IS FOR REAL" on Any discussion that you want me or anyone else to take seriously!!!

LOL are you serious?? i see what your post are and i reply to them in the spirit in which they were posted. in fun, and jokes and laughs and giggles. who ever is taking them that seriously needs to get out more and laugh more.. I love your post.

I need to read some of your posts to really comment if I can call them rubbish. But the idea is not revolting at all. This is a discussion forum and hyphotetical cases that can spark a discussion is I think welcome. Ideas can be expressed in a hyphotetical fashion and get hyphotetical responses, there is no harm done.

Pffffftttttt! Sometimes you are about as big a goof ball as our Froot Loopy friend.
I do think I know when to take you seriously and, most of the time, that is not when you are on my lot.

Sometimes you do write some serious discussion but admittedly that is rare. I think there are a few myLotters on here that really don't get where you are coming from and do take you seriously! For those few, I think it might be worth adding a little note on your discussions like 'those without a sense of humour, need not apply a response' haha just kidding!! I don't take you seriously, well not all the time anyway! X

Leave your discussions the way they are. Scatterings of whimsey and nonsense in our lives is like taking a bit of a cerebral vacation from the daily grind of the true nonsense that we have to deal with. Besides, if your cat didn't have the fictional character of P1kef1sh to impersonate and write about, it would just be sitting in the sun somewhere and doing nothing....

I think I'm quite good at knowing whether you are being serious. I usually assume that you are not but sometimes double check things if I think you might be being serious. I don't know why people would take you seriously sometimes, especially with your made up university stuff and things. Perhaps you should invent a new myLot category called "Silly Pike" or add "Silly" or "Serious" at the beginning of your discussions although, sadly, I think some people would still take things the wrong way.

I believe I'm one of those that knows when you are spoofing without the disclaimer. And I truly hope you don't start posting one, because the responses are just too entertaining to read! LOL

I have never taken you seriously, but I have enjoyed a few of your stories that you start and we get the opportunity to finish.. I have joined in for a few of them.. I do hope you continue the "spoofing" and if it makes you feel better, add a tag letting everyone know that you are just "spoofing" And also, the stuff that you write is not "rubbish", it really talkes a lot of time, energy and thought to write the things that you write, so keep up the good work, it is so much better than letting your brain stagnate..

Hello Donna, I haven't seen you for ages. I hope that all is well with you. I sometimes write the most ridiculous tags, although we get told off for that nowadays. Thank you for the encouragement. You are right that it takes energy. Quite a lot of it too.

Things are much better, I had a few medical problems but with the medications and the constant doctor visits, I am getting along just fine.. I have to rethink my diet now and that is the hard part, but it is great to be back.. Good hearing from you..

discussions and know what a lovely person that you are and
can't apologize enough to you! If you knew me you would know
that I don't have a mean bone in my body, and would never
say anything mean to anyone here ever! So please forgive me
because I was only making a joke! Please tell me that you
forgive me! This site isn't any other sites and you don't
have to be afraid what you say! That is the only reason I have
stayed here! I don't trust or like any other sites for the
same reasons that you don't! If you don't believe me ask

Thank you so much for your response, this whole thing was making me think twice about mylot, sometimes I respond to discussion and may go on/on and to think people laugh at me really hurt me, I forgive you, and I ask that you forgive me as well, I am really sorry, you see I take post to seriously its hard to tell when something is a joke or serious, sorry about this, forgive me,I feel so bad right now.

I think calling a poster dumb because they are not use to a posters sense of humor is insulting, I am new to this poster myself and when I respond most of the time my responses are serious, I am actually ticked off by this, not so much pike himself but the fact that I know I take post very serious and this is sad, how are we to know someone is playing or serious its really sad knowing you respond to someone and there is a chance your responses are made fun of, to call posters dumb is wrong and very insulting to people that are unfamiliar with a posters style of discussions, I will chose my responses very carefully from now on, and think twice about who I respond too, it is sad that people here will call other posters names because they may have misread someones discussion, not just you a few people have done this and its wrong.
Again I blame myself, and now realize that mylot users are no different than any of the other sites here on the net, this is really sad, glad pike started this discussion, now I know what I need to do when it comes to my responses, I guess before I respond I must ask are you serious or is this a joke, how sad is that, there are many people responding to our post and its unfair to be laughed at when you don't realize someone posting a discussion just for laughs and if you don't get it, you will be laughed at or called name, this sucks.

This is the first time I think I had read your started discussion and from my point of view maybe some of your writings might sound ridiculous or out of this world to you but some actually believe it because it is not to them. Or maybe their answers are made up too, you do not know that also.
And if this is the case, is this discussion made up also? Do you really write ridiculous stuffs?
And I am just curious, do you believe that I believe you or not? What do you think?
