I just finished, for the second time, my all-time favorite book: The End of Mr.Y, by Scarlett Thomas. I'm planing on reading New Moon, from the Twilight saga.
I don't really care for the series, but my friends insist.
so, what are you reading at the moment? did you read New Moon?

Hi. I'm reading "Anne Frank, Diary of a Young Girl" at the moment. Finally got around to buying it and as now, a month later, I haven't gotten past a double-digit page - sadly. But I do not have anything else after it so I guess I'm taking as long as I could in finishing it until I decide what to read next. And no, I did not read "New Moon" 'cause I'm honestly not interested. Like you, I don't care for the series either. All the hype must've ruined it for me. LOL

Hi. I haven't finished it but so far, personally, it is not something that I "just couldn't put down", obviously. Though I am very impressed with her honesty and eloquence. Wished I wrote that way in my diary when I was a young teen but then again, it was her circumstances that made it quite extraordinary. It is a wonderful addition to my library, but hasn't captured me as I had hoped. Well, that's how it is so far. My feelings could change in the course of reading it, as is only natural.

you know, I was never one for diary fashioned books. but I fell in love with the Georgia Nicolson series, so maybe I'm going to enjoy the Anne Frank diary.

I just finished The Godfather and Twlight. I am with you I don't care for the series much and probably will not read new moon. I just went to Half Price books today, and got some true crime books and a couple ghost story books. What was The End of Mr. Y about?

awesome! crime books and ghost ones are so much better then twilight. The End Of Mr Y is about a cursed book, found by a PHD student named Ariel Manto. she reads it, and finds out what the curse is really like.
it's hard to summarize the book, but that's the essence of it, I guess.

I am currently not reading any book right now... i bought the book Wicked months ago... and started to read a few pages... but i became quite busy with work... so it is just there by the lamp... i hope to be able to start reading it again one of these days... I already finished the Twilight Saga months ago... and the story is quite nice...

I haven't read any of the Twilight books and probably won't, unless I totally run out of things to read, which is very unlikely. It's just not really a story I see myself enjoying in book form. I enjoyed the movie a lot, even bought it, but I'm usually pretty good at knowing from seeing a movie whether or not I would enjoy the book and that one doesn't strike me as such.
That said....to the real question here. I'm reading the third book in Jim Butcher's Codex Alera, Cursor's Fury. After that I'll probably read the fourth one and then find something else while I wait for the fifth one to come out in paperback the end of November.

that's what I think. I have dozens of books I can't wait to read, and only when I finish all my books am I going to read twilight.
I think I might look into the codex :)

I'm reading Voices from the other side: Dark Dreams Two which is a anthology of original horror written by Black authors. I'm in between Dark Dreams Two and Dark Dreams 1 and can say that I am very pleased with what the different authors produced. I intend on buying these books but for now I will use my school's library resources to try before I decide to buy.

that's nice- I like horror anthologies. I don't think I've heard about this one, though.

I'm on the first page of Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. My husband finished it during the weekend and I started reading it yesterday. I have not gone past the first page. I have also a pile of books waiting to be read in my study. I am waiting for a beach holiday. In front of the beach, I am pretty sure I will finish them all.

also, I really wanted to get that book, but I haven't even finished Angels and Demons, and got but didn't read the third one.

I couldn't wait to read Twilight when I heard it's all about vampires and werewolves, but it's really not... it's mostly the doomed-from-the-start relationship, and not too well written...
I think I know the book you're talking about. Amazon recommended it for me.

I'm reading a book called The Historian, by Elizabeth Kostova. It's a modern twist on Dracula. It's a slow burner, but very gothic and creepy, with elaborate and very evocative descriptions of Europe. I'm tempted to put the laptop down now and carry on with it!

I am currently reading "Twilight". At first I was like, "I am not going to cave in to this trend, I am not going to do it," but...I ended up buying all four books in two days. So far I'm enjoying the series, and I think a lot of that is because I haven't had the entire plot spoiled for me like the "Harry Potter" series was.

I've been told by my friends that Twilight is relatively the worst one of the series, and that it only gets better :)

I just finished a "thinking" book (about spirituality) and now I'm reading a book that is just easy thrill reading by John Sandford, Wicked Prey. He has a whole series and it's really good. I've read the series (total of 20 books)and this is his latest one. It's a thriller and very good. I've never read the Twillight saga but my sister liked it a lot.
