How has the economy affected you in your daily life?

Many lives have been altered because of the economy, what routines have changed for you? Are you cutting coupons? Are you calling credit card companies to get the lowest interest rates? Are you carpooling to work? Or taking the bus? Did you get a second job? Needed a roommate to help with expenses? Having depression issues, or mood changes because of it?
Help give tips on how to avoid the negativity of the bad economy? How do we get through these tough changes?

my hubby lost his job in mid august and while he is still doing some work on the side, we havent had a really steady income (other than mine from my part time job) so we have had to be pretty careful on what we spend money on, plus, i am making a ton of christmas presents this year too (as to not have to spend as much money!)
