How Bad Politically Does Losing the Olympic Bid Look for President Obama?

It is official Rio is the host of the Olympics. In a first round stunner, Chicago gets voted out. This is going to hurt President Obama especially in his home city of Chicago. This in my opinion makes him flying to Copenhagen a complete waste of time and taxpayer money. I wonder if they would have had a better chance if he had just stayed at the White House working on his "health care" campaigning.

Not at all, Rolland Burris has that covered already, it's Bush's fault....lol Honestly, I don't think the American public gives a crap about the olympics enough for ti to effect his political career, it's pretty small potatos in the grander scheme of things. And if hiring a bunch of radicals and tax cheats to his cabinates didn't hurt him, this isn't going to leave a scratch.

Maybe not, but this is another blow to his little empire and one of these days, it will all come tumbling down.

While I think that the Obamas should have saved taxpayer money and stayed at home rather than going to Copenhagen I do not think it is going to make much difference to him politically because IMO the Olympics is anything but political.

I agree it was a complete waste of taxpayer money. He actually probably made it less likely that his real hometown of Chicago would get the Olympics by going there and behaving like the big shot celebrity he thinks he is.

Obama gave it his best shot... does not effect his standing at all, especially in a city that brought him to the State Senate, US Senate and that great rally on election night. Surprised Madrid did not win, Brazil was due.

I don't think it looks as bad as him going for it to begin with did!! We have far too many serious problems that need to be looked after, we don't need that headache!! And, we shouldn't have to throw a few more billion or so into such a thing just so obama and friends can have a fun little diversion from those problems. They need to get to work, and find suitable answers for the problems we have, quite creating newer and bigger problems for us all to live with!
