I have many pitbulls and all of them has some kind of skin disease. The veterinarian said that it was some kind of blood mites where their skin becomes dry. Their coat sheds off and blisters and some kind of dandruff emerges... i once had a litter of pups and almost all of them had that disease. I had to personally inject them with antibiotics. Luckily their skin irritation disappeared..

It's very common, I know that they seem prone to get mange. They do have sensitive I guess. I owned a pitt bull before and she had a little mange on her nose. I took her to the vet. When they have mange it's best to take them to the vet right away for it.Mange can kill a dog if you ignore it.
Their skin just needs more care than other dog breeds. This is something I think I'm gonna research online.

I don't know exactly why but my pitbull has skin problems too. Our vet couldn't pin point the problem but put her on oral antibiotics, gave her some medicated shampoo and said if it doesn't work it could be the food. We've had her on the meds and shampoo so many times. It'll clear up but not all the way. We started buying the vet food and noticed her coat was coming back in. When the food ran out all we could afford at the time was regular purina dog food from one of the stores and noticed her skin was getting bad again. Maybe you should try seeing about a natural dog food from the vet. It is more expensive than store brands but you would probably end up saving some money from not having to buy the antibiotics.
