Lots of public computers today are using the system program called windows xp, for me XP are user friendly and easy to use, now by 2010 it is to be replace by Windows Vista, the more added features it can be presented than XP, which is the more you like to use, Vista or XP?

I loved XP and you are right is was very user friendly, I never wanted Vista after hearing what a lot of people on here were saying but last week my friend who tests for Microsoft talked me into letting him put Windows 7 on and I must say I love it, I am not good with change but have just taken a week to get used to it...I love it.

XP is being phased out to make way for Windows 7, not Vista. 7 isdue out here in the US in October. After that Mcrosoft will no longer support XP or supply any updates or patches for XP. From what I hear, 7 wil not have many of the problems Vista had when it was released. For XP users that want to upgrade to 7, there will be a problem. You can't do at least not directly. To go from XP to 7 you would need to do either of two things, a clean install, which erases your hard drive or install 7 as dual boot. In either case you would need to re-install software to run under 7. (I believe there are some 3rd party suppliers who are going to sell programs to store files during the upgrade but I don't know what they are at this point.) The one way to upgrade to 7 without losing data, upgrade to Vista first. Yes, it looks like Microsoft is trying one more way to force people to buy Vista.

I have pre-ordered a copy of Win 7 Professional. (I'm stuck using the "Professional" versions of Windows because I oce bought Windows 2000 Professional and I found that I couldn't upgrade to XP with the regualr version of that, I had to use the Professional version.) & is supposed to be released here in the US this month. I bought a copy because I got a good price and I heard goo things about the beta versions that were released. I found out later about the problem with upgrading directly from XP to 7. My desktops all run on XP. Only my laptop has Vista. Since I bought the laptop this year, I assume they got all of the bugs out of Vista.

I have used Windows Vista, it has great looks and a slick interface , but I have got used to Windows XP and would hate to give it up. Vista cannot be used in all machines as it requires huge memory space whereas XP has become universally acceptable now. I hope we can carry on using XP for some time more before it is totally replaced.

XP Laid to rest - XP should be a concrete forever choose. But do to making money Bill is pulling the plug !
Talk about pet peeves !It makes me so angry how every time something works great, they must try and improve it while we sit patiently waiting for these new wonder systems,to get the kinks out. XP Lover forever! Its all about control and money.

I will use Windows Xp more than Vista. The main reason is that Windows Xp works fine with older PC's but for loading Vista one need to first invest on hardware of PC and then also the booting of Vista is very slow. So, I will prefer Windows Xp, Windows 7 is looking cool and much faster then Vista. So, I might shift to Windows 7 but not Vista..

I have been using Windows Vista for 2 years now so it is so hard for me to say which one I like better. But I have used some other peoples computers that had Windows Xp and I think Vista is easier to understand. It does have many more feature and I think you need to really go into the system to stop running all the programs that are installed when you first get it. I also know there is another Windows program that came out about a year ago but I forgot the name of it. So for me I feel Windows Vista wins in my opinion. Take care and happy mylotting to you.

Vista is only good for a very basic user. For a power user, who would need a very stable operating system and complete control on the machine, vista is not the right software. Vista was the worst operating system microsoft developed since windows Me. Hopefully windows 7 will be better than vista and will become the rightful candidate to replace xp.

ya.. I agree that Vista is only for user interface and lot of authentication , graphics features. But it is not flexible as XP. I better used to go with XP, until windows 7.
