Do u prefer going for herbal treatment or the normal medicine?

I have met so many people nowadays who prefer herbal (ayurveda) medicine over the normal medicine. when i ask them the reason they say that they prefer it just because it has no side effects. Ayurveda treatment takes time but is effective. This just clicked me as i was having a stomach upset. what would you do?

I prefer herbs but I usually take the commercialized medicines. Actually, herbal medicines are much safer and pure. Plus they are so affordable, you can even get it free. The medicines that we have now are also from plants, most of them. But, living in this generation, herbal plants are rarely seen in our backyards, that's why we settle for those which are readily made.
