When you are stressed, what do you FIRST turn to?

As a counselor, I am always learning of ways people cope with stress, from prayer to food to parents to singing to alcohol to "playing basketball until I can't move anymore".
No wrong answers here... How about you, mylotters, what do you FIRST turn to?

I seldom get stressed but however there are times that I turn my attention into different things when I am stressed. I may eat some food that I might feel happy like ice cream. Or I would start exercising like doing yoga so that I can meditate and relax in the same time. If I am lonesome, I would even listen to a song that would help me relax. I have attached a picture that I took 2 weeks ago. It says that stressed if spelled backwards is desserts. Its saying that if you are stressed, grab a dessert. I don't know if it will really benefit a stressed person with that as there are no scientific findings with it.

When I start feeling stresses a lot of times I will go find a quiet place somewhere and say a Prayer asking God to help me thru that situation. Sometimes I will even grab something sweet like a candy bar as well. Depending on how stressed I get I will either start eating a lot of Junk food etc. or almost skip eating, which both are not Good since I am an Insuline dependant diabetic as well.

Right now I'm in a meltdown, completely and totally stressed out. There is no easy way out of dealing with stress but being a strong-willed person I cope as best as I can.
When I wake up around 6:30am, I'm on the computer by 6:45, looking for jobs on all my different websites. I am out of work and have been for quite some time, and if I'm really lucky that day, I will find one to apply to. Another story in itself.
Then I go to a site where they talk about working from home, although I really can't because I don't have a landline, nor a new computer, nor high speed internet service but I keep hoping someday...
After that I go over to Ebay and see how my favorite treasured items that I love dearly are selling, got to eat you know and so does my cat.
Then I go back to the job sites and check again, on and off all day long. I stay on the computer for hour after hour because my cable was turned off for lack of payment. I never thought I would be out of work for so long, never. High hopes all the time. And I don't have a converter because I can't afford that either, so I have no tv at all to watch at all.
Oh yes, I forgot to mention, a month ago the brakes went on my car. I have no car to drive now either. My daughters help me out as much as they can and I love them dearly, so they drive me wherever I have to go. They offered to have the car fixed at a gas station but you know what? I have no money to pay them back and I'm not sure when I'll have the money. I've already borrowed some and they are always bringing me food over. They know the situation I'm in and they know how hard I'm trying to find work. There is much, much more to this story than I can say.
I come to myLot in the evenings where I can forget my own problems and try to help others with there's or socialize and have a bit of fun, and make some pocket change. Every little bit helps right now.
I can forget my problems for a while while I'm on the computer, it helps. I'm just waiting for it to break too as it's about 8 years old.
I can go on and on and on with this story but I think this is long enough. So, I guess it's the computer where I take my stress level to, just to get away from it all.

My stress usually comes about 3am when my mind can't shut down because I'm worried about something or other. I usually will start to pray with a pray book I have. Or I will try to find a movie on tv that will help me from thinking about what I'm stressing about. Last resort I would try to read the book I'm reading at any given time.

When i get stressed out i tend to walk into another room away from people who are there as that way it is easier for me to hide the way i feel. The other reason is that incase i cry as i find that crying is a great way to release the stress. If that do not work then i will have a glass of drink.

I turn to praise and worship, and it brings me peace.
This is the way I handle my stress, I know with God
all things are possible. He will bring peace beyond
understanding, when you praise him. This is the way
I handle my stress, b trusting in God.
Have a wonderful day.

hi valentinesdiner I turn to music and Mozart's violin and flute sonatas and they soothe me and calm me down. then I can either fix some problem or if its unfixable, just turn it off and smile'be happy.

i go to the badminton court and play. it is really my way out of stress and loneliness. i enjoy playing with the young students there every afternoon for the past 2 years, but then, i stopped two months ago. i had been sick with flu and was on leave from work for 2 weeks. i returned playing for 2 weeks now (for two times only). i wish to be regularly playing again... hope i can go back next week. i really enjoy playing and laughing (mostly from the hits and misses and our errors) with the young students there.

When I'm stressed the first thing I do is listen to music. Really loud, if I can. I also spend time with friends. Just watch movies together or hang out at a coffee shop. When I had a car I would go out driving with the CD player on, but that's not a good idea if you're angry-stressed.
