Does increased frequency of topics reduce average response?

I've noticed many users with a lot of zero response topics as I just surfed through the section "no responses".. Is posting too many topics (say more than 3-4 a day) a major factor in causeing reduced responses?.. Do you take care of this factor so that all get a chance to respond to each and every discussion you start!

I start no more than one dsicussion a week. I prefer to comment to all the responses that I receive on my discussion and I could not possibly do that if I start more than one at a time.
IO also try to respond on dicussions that most of those on my friend list start. I cannot respond on them if they are starting lots of them every day so Iwould respond on one, or a couple at the most. I presume that others would do likewise so this probably contibutes to a discussion receiving only a few responses.
Usually when a user starts lots (like the particular user in the 'no responses' today) they do not get back and comment on the responses which they receive. That iuis also another resons why they would receive only a few responses because many Lotters do not respond when they now the poster does not get back and comment.
When we start a discussion we take ona responsability. Starting too many akll at once is not what myLot is all about and it is doubtful that they would create interesting earnings. Much better to create fewer and keep them alive rather than to start a lot and then just abandon them

Interesting strategy. I have else start one discussion and maybe i star another today. But it's not about the number but the quality of the discussions. I prefer to attend to the interesting discussions people post on mylot and not create topics just to do it.

Hi aravindkrd,
I think it is a major factor here why his/her discussions doesn't have any response. Usually people started many discussions in a day doesn't come back to his/her discussion to read and comment the response and that is not what we suppose to do here. This is a discussion and not question and answer type of forum.
They also bring up a repeated discussions and people wouldn't respond to it because that discussion would be deleted and they would not anything from it. One line discussions also would not receive many (if any) response. That show the laziness of the discussions starter.

Hi akuler, you're not no 1 anymore over in Pani and all our supporters there have left, fickle lot, just because they didn't like football in the first place is not a good reason to feign some interest now. I trust you will remain a stauch supporter of the greens.

yep!.. too many discussions a day makes it impossible for the topic poster to make it a discussion more than just a question-answer stuff. Never knew they delete the repeatition questions. Should avoid responding to probable ones hereafter. Thanx!

Whenever I start a discussion I think of a topic which everyone will love to comment on. Interesting topics attracts everyone, just like your one. Till now I have only one discussion, which I started a long time ago, not answered. I post 2-3 discussions a week and respond to about 20-40 discussions everyday. Currently I am very active.

responding to 20-40 discussions a day.... You are certainly active... From here on.. I'm also switching to may 1,2 or max 3 posts a week or so.. so that I can interact with all of my responders more actively..!

Hi aravinkrd, just as Msy said a lot of us don't respond to posters who don't commet back, hence on reason for the low reponses. Plus those that churn out quick one liners are often doing it on repeat topics and I can't be bothered after the first time. Am I meant to change my favourite flavour of ice cream daily or keep to yesterdays flavour, along with my pizza topping, how much water I drink etc. I'm quite tempted to answer with 'The same as the answer from yesterday' but why waase my time as the majority will be deleted.
I might put 3 out in one day and then none the next, but I try and keep on top of all the responses, but I'm the type who if I have an interesting thought post it immediately whilst the no response ones just seem to have often been thought up for the sake of posting.

True.. But from my observation, these "wat is your favorite stuff" is mostly posted by newbies rather than the eXperienced members. I chose not to answer such survey/ yes/no / one word type questions as the ToS says that you should not give exactly same answers even the questions are exactly the same..(They should probably start deleting repeatition questions.. - specially the very frequent ones). I should certainly reduce my frequency of posting and satrt being active on each...

Hi Aravindkrd,
Recently I went into one of my interests and there was a string of one liner questions from the same person, I skipped them all. In the beginning of my time here I would reply to those, but I have started to spend less time on mylot for mind reasons, and this means that I tend to search out the better topics more than just answering everyhting in hope to earn more. Therefore if I see topics that clearly have no thought gone into them I won't bother putting my time into them either.
In the beginning I did used to start lots of discussions, but never usually more than 3 a day, and even then I felt really bad because I hated the idea I was spamming the board, but they were related so I posted them anyway while they were relevant. But these days because again of my mind issues, I don't start any because I know I can't keep interest long enough to comment on everyone and I don't want to become one of the blacklisted members who get a reputation for never replying (which would easily happen with my history!).
I definitely think that time given is a factor in how many responses a person get, but more than than that it is also important for the quality of the responses. I would rather have a few well thought out ones than tonnes of lame one liners that I couldn't care less about!!
All the best,
Dranz

hi Dranz.. Its true that considering the time constrains it is very easy to be blacklisted as a user who doesn't comment to his responses.. On the other side it is never easy to get a good name in terms of commenting to all responses. For your info, The set of one liner questions you told about have been totally moved to the "no response section"

Certainly yes will be the answer for your discussion topic buddy.... ther are too many discussion topics posted in the same angle... but everyone choose a slightly different way in posing their own way of questions.... in the topic love... i saw many questions like are you in love, what do you feel about him, how do you day that you love him, infactuaton vs love, what will you do when your love moves from you, the best part in him and so on... the answer for these question will hang on with the same points... so many(myself the most) feel irritated to reply to smame sort of question....

I stopped surfing through the interest love to avoid this frustration . Yeah.. its true that we see many questions daily posted in different forms.. that we tend to look who the author is/ or how active he is in commenting to responses before giving a response..

What I think is happening why they have 0 responses, is because it wasn't interesting enough to get responses, and also that it probably is one that has been discussed before, so users just aren't nterested in discussing the same thing again. I have noticed a lot fo repat discussions. I have responded to some though, as most of the time, they ar posted by new users, and they need help tryin to figure out how to earn in mylot. I feel that someone should at least help them, even it if is just me. That woulde leave the dscussion with 1 response anyway, and sometimes, once another user has responded, then it is an incentive for others to want to respond as well. I will only respond to discussion that I can share my views on. If I have nothing to say, then I will just leave it and move on. Good luck to you adn happy mylotting.

yeah.. we should start something like "Tips for newbies" so that they will avoid all these repetition topics, one liner responses and discussions... I was sort of on the same track when I was a newbie. I though myLot was just another question-answer website like yahoo answers and wiki answers.. It took me so many posts to know wat myLot was. You are the first person saying from the point of view of newbies..

Hi aravindkrd
How are you today? Good I hope.
I usually only start one discussion at a time. That way I can give all my attention to the responses. I always respond to my responses because that is the only friendly way to be. I have always heard if you treat people nice then good things come back to you. I now believe in this. I do look into the no responses as well. I feel that it gives those lotters a chance too. Good discussion and you have a good day. Keep smiling..

Thanks for the response back to me. I know what you are saying. I try to help the newbies out by telling them to be sure to make comments back and by doing this they are showing respect. Some of them understand and others don't understand or don't care one..You have a great day and keep smiling my friend..

Yeah.. I too surf through the "no responses" section everyday.. But never get any comment back or "best response" as most of them are newbies who never follow their topics. As you said its much more comforting to participate in active discussions!
