will for me shy is opposite of being at ease with yourself around others. when people feel shy, they might hesitate to say or do something bcoz theyre feeling unsure of themselves and theyre nah ready to be noticed.
and im a shy person too..:)..but im starting to get over with my shyness..:)

I have always been quiet and really shy around people. I still have a hard time not being shy around people ive known for a while. I think its because I dont trust people so I dont want to open up to any one but recently Ive started to stand my ground because even though im shy doesnt mean people can walk all over me and thats how its been in the past. I guess im just not the type of person to be the center of attention.

i feel shy around any new people even attractive ones but soon open up to them (but i like to be quite secretive and personal so i only show them a side of me) which is what you can do if you arent an extroverted person.
when im talking to an attractive person i like to look at their beautiful features it will tottaly take of my pressure and make you connect with them visually easier.
all im saying is dare yourself to do things outside your comfort zone, it will give you an adrenaline rush the same feeling that makes life worth living for =]
hoped i help
