I used to love Bill O'Reilly. He had a great show and provided factual information on the political scene. However in the last year I have almost stopped watching his show. It seems he no longer holds the strong opinions he used to. Whether I agree or not I always support someone sharing their opinions and why they feel the way they do. O'Reilly has moved from the right to the center. At first I thought he was just changing his view as people often do. The more I watch the more I felt it was put on and done to protect his ratings as number 1.

o'reilly usually is reliable but he has had plenty of slip ups and out bursts which make him a less than consistant reporter. i've heard him make things up when he gets frustrated just to continue an arguement.

He used to be more consistent. Now I think he is just about the ratings. Occasionally I will still watch - maybe every couple of months. I don't know if Bill has changed his views, which is possible, or if he thinks more liberals will tune in if he moves more left. Whatever the reason I think he just a little too full of himself.

That is how O'Reilly was on the radio when he had his show, and then at night it was full blown right wing hate TV. It is good to hear that he is moving more toward the center, I used to like his radio show because he called out people that were idiots on both sides of the isle. On his TV show, he brought on people he either bashed, or agreed with his views 100%. I bet his misses his radio show now that it isn't there. Sounds like you do as well.

I actually used to "sort of" like him on the radio where he seemed more moderate and fair. When I first saw part of his TV show I hardly recognized him because he seemed like a totally different person. Since I don't watch his show and just see bits and pieces now and then I didn't realize he'd changed on there but I can't picture him moving to the center. He'd have quite a ways to go!
Glenn Beck is one I think is nothing but show. Believe it or not, when he was on HLN I thought he was "OK" some of the time but now he's become the voice of the most radical of the radical right.

That is funny anniepa - I am frustrated with Bill because he is moving more left, and you are frustrated because he moved more right. Guess it's just all about perception. Interesting isn't it? Either way Bill better do something cause I think his top bill in the ratings in headed down.

I think O'Reilly has always been a more moderate conservative. Years ago, his radio show came on about the time I would be waiting in my car outside my daughter's school to pick her up so I always listened to it. I found that though we often came to the same conclusions on issues, he may have not reached his conclusions for the same reasons I did. But generally, I think he comes to them honestly via his own opinions and life experiences. Sometimes I think he is wrong on issues. But maybe he needs to be the voice that sometimes is on the side you didn't expect him to be on.
It might be that he wants to be fair and balanced. He has liberals who are regularly on the show. He argues with both the conservative and liberal guests. It's a good thing when he makes people defend their positions.
Most of the time, he is on my side. What's that biblical adage? Those who are not against us are for us? Let's be thankful for those who are not our enemies and are willing to state what they believe to be true, even if sometimes we don't agree.

I agree he has been a moderate conservative. I just feel he is going more and more left. He used to be very clear, fair and balanced. But his show took on the feel that he wanted to remove himself from the far right and in turn became less balanced. I used to enjoy his debates very much - but now he just doesn't seem to have the same clear agenda when talking with people. Great response with lots of specific detail. Thank you!
