Everyone has always told me it is hard to potty train your child. I have a 2 year old little girl. I am trying to potty train her. She tells me whene she has to go potty so we will go to the bathroom. And at first I thought everyone was just saying it was had to scare me becouse I thought it was easy. My only problem is trying to get her to pee in the toilet she will poop in the toilet she just wont pee in it. And everyone told me usally kids will pee in toilets and wont poop in them. So I was just wondering if anyone could give me a few suggestions on how to get my daughter to pee in the toilet? Thanks
Happy Mylotting

Have you tried turning the water on? I know this can cause a bit of fuss if it works because she will want it on every time. But it might help.
My daughter will pee but not poop in the potty. I did the water thing and she started going easier and with little fuss about it. I wish you the best of luck.

No I have not tried running water. I will have to start trying it. Maybe it will work with my daughter. I wish I could give you a suggession on how to get your little girl to poop in the potty. My daughter just kind of started it. Thanks for your help.

My daughter is disabled so i know she will get it just on her own time. We also had stickers we would put on a board each time she went potty that might work too.

My Mom had a bit of troulble with my little brother. He loved to pee in the potty, but was actually afraid to poop in it. She began taking his pants and empying them in the toilet so he could visually see that is where it should go and then allow him to flush the potty and watch it go away. After he got used to seeing that it was supposed to go there, she would carefully watch him when she thought he was about to go, hurry up, place him on the potty at the moment where he really had no choice because he was already going and then allow him to flush it away. It took a bit of effort, but it worked. If was just getting him over that initial time or two before he was beginning to do it on his own.

I guess I am not one to ask, as for me potty training was so so easy. From the time my children were crawling around I would take them into the bathroom with me and tell them what I was doing. So at some point between one and a half years old and two years old when I felt they were ready i would start sitting them on toilet and with in a couple of weeks they were pretty good and by the time they were two they were trained. Will actually my first one was trained before two and my second one was two and a couple of months. Each child is different but also maybe I was more slack. I still put their diapers on for bed time just in case they had any accidents. If they went for about a month or two dry then no more diapers at night either. I had a friend who still had her four year old in diapers. I couldn't stand it. I think if you have your child already potty trained at two I am sure you can figure out a way to get her to go pee in the toilet. Great job to you I say.

Wow you have somw good kids. Yes all kids are different but 4 is a little to old to still be in dieapers. My daughter never wears dieapers during the day she wears real underwear and at night she wears pullups. She is doing alot better tho. Almost totally potty trained.

I have a 3 year old and we are still going through the potty training....I've cut her back on her drinking in the beginning giving her big girl cups and asking her every 15 minutes to a half hour especially after drinking and I keep her in undies all day just watch her if she falls asleep pull ups can confuse them into thinking they are in diapers any suggestions for pooping that is the part I'm having troubles with lol....

Well if she is pooping in her undies take her undies off and have her watch you put her poop in the toilet. And tell her that is where her poop goes let her flush the toilet. After awail she will soon relize that she is suppose to go poop in the toilet. My daughter on the other hand just kind of started pooping in the toilet. I hope this will help you.
