What kind of cereal do you eat?

For me I eat the old school ones. Honey Nut Cheerios and oatmeal. I like that new Cinnamon Crunch but it don't get it very often. I used to get two bran cereals and mix them together just for a change. What do you usually eat? Do you find yourself letting your kids eat the more sugary cereals and figure you will make up for it at dinner or are you pretty good about making them eat a wholesome cereal?

Hello celticeagle, gosh what an interesting discussion about cereals. My favourite are undoubtely shredded wheat but that's because they don't sell them in Greece at all so if I'm in the mood for cereal then that is what I would invariably want but no matter how many shops I search it is without success. I don't actually feed the kids with cereal at all as I heard that it was very bad for their digestive systems and believe me if you'd ever tried up cleaning the mess they leave behind in the vegetable patch you'd be with me on that one. It is always best to let both young goats along with the older ones stick to natural vegetation in their eating habits.

I eat raisin bran cereal the most. I like that, or frosted shreeded wheat. I also like the wheat puff cereal, that's good. I eat oatmeal if you can consider it a cereal. Really though I don't eat that much cereal anymore with me eating slim fast.

I am not very fond of cereals, but I like to have them once in a while, especailly when I am in a hurry to leave to office in the morning and there is no time to prepare a big breakfast. I love to have cereals with cold milk. I buy fat free milk for that purpose. My favorite flavor of cereals is honey. Mango is my favorite flavor, but I don't like mango flavored cereals.

I have cereal at least 5 times a week without milk. I switch between raisin bran and Cinnamon Granola with raisins. I will add dry cranberries and a banana too either cereal for more nutrition. When my kids were young they would eat cocoa puff, frosted flakes or oatmeal. We always had pancakes or bacon and eggs on Sundays.

Yes without milk, because I can't eat cereal with milk at all. I don't like soggy cereal.

I like Weetabix because there is no sugar or salt added to it and I can always manage to eat Weetabix even if I don't feel like eating

They sell it in the UK. Maybe they have different brand names for the same stuff in different countries. It is fairly tasteless but easy to eat and healthy

I like most cereals. I am a fan. The ones I have right now are granola and toasted corn chex. These are store brand cereals but I think they are quite good. I do like my cereal with milk and would not have it with orange juice or water or any of the other things that have been suggested to me.

Well I no longer eat cereal for breakfast but when I was it was probably Fibre 1 cereal. I usually ate it with chopped nuts, raisins, cranberries, rice milk and occasionally if I was bored with that maybe chocolate almond milk (to break things up a bit). But yeah I basically ate it because it was high in fibre (quick way of getting instant fibre in your day), very healthy for you even if it tasted like sawdust! ha! Now I prefer having a protein shake every morning with rice milk, protein powder, frozen berries, hazelnut butter and ice cubes and tastes fabulous and gives me way more energy for the day.

Hi Celticeagle,
Once a while,I will have a cereal for my breakfast.
I always go for Quacker Instant Oatmeal,It is more convenience and easy to prepare.
Eating quacker oats is good for health,it helps to reduce cholestrol and also good source of calcium, iron and 7 essential vitamins and minerals.
I also standby a pack of Quacker Instant Oatmeal at home, so wheneve I feel hungry and no other food is available, then Quacker Instant Oatmeal will be the best meal for me on that day.

This is sad to say, seeing as how I am a junkie for trying to get my children to eat the best possible diets, but we prefer the presweetened cereals. My personal favorite has always been Golden Grahams and my children are more partial to Lucky Charms and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I don't really think about it in terms of thinking that I will make up for it at dinner time, but rather that having a sweetened cereal is their one splurge. We don't buy a lot of junk food at our home so honestly our cereal is the closest that we come to having junk food for the kids to eat.

Hi celticeagle. There are several breakfast cereals that I like to eat. I am not that fond of bran or cornflakes though. I like Lucky Charms and Captain Crunch in sweetened cereals. I think my ultimate favorite cereal would have to be Cheerios. It has always been one of my breakfast favorites!

I usually eat most of the time Kashi Brand cereals, it is much healthier I think. Sometimes I eat Special K or Honey Bunches of Oats. I try not to let the kids eat sugary cereal. I gave them Life Cereal and Quaker oatmeal Squares.

We ate very little cold cereal when my kids were growing up, or when I was growing up for that matter. Shoot, cornflakes were a treat to me. My mom had a tradition of buying Honeycombs as a treat when my kids were coming to visit. My thirty something son still remembers that. I eat cheerios of all kinds, name brand and generic, just depending on if I have a coupon and what it is good for. I like banana nut cheerios on ice cream.

I usually eat whatever strikes my fancy. Right now I have honey bunches of oats with cinammon and today I just bought a store brand granola which I think has almonds and raisins in it. It looked really good and I thought it would be good. I havent had granola for a long time.

I am one of those people that make sure my children eat their breakfast and yet i never do.I tend to buy lots of different sorts as that way they can have a choice and they do never get bored of the same old thing all the time.Sometimes they also like to have toast yet other days they like shreddies and wheat a bix another day it will be sugar puffs or frosted flakes but they all like coco pops.I think that if they eat breakfast they are not hungry miles before dinner.
