hi neo_matrix,
thanks for the response and i havent tasted karims tandoori chicken but they do make very good chicken biryani. So next time you visit their Chandni Chowk joint do taste it, though i dont like their Rajouri Garden branch. I dont know why, though they tried to make it more sophosticated but they dont have same taste there and may be it because they dont have same quality cook there

Hi asweetie, it is a long time since I tasted it as there are absolutely no Indian restaurants anywhere in the area and I dealy miss them. Back in the UK you may be interested to know that the most popular dish nationally was chicken tikka masala. Tandoori was never a particular pick of mine as a tad on the dry side, but obviously would be tasted if on the table. My favourite would remain a bhindi bhaji which I can cook at home but not half as well as I remember them.

hi thea,
thanks for the response and i am really surprised that chicken tikka is so popular in United Kingdom. And wow you like Bhindi bhaji ( that is lady finger ). I like it but not very fond of it as i dont like its taste much. You should try tandoori chicken with coke or pepsi. I love it this way.

Chicken tikka was indeed the UK's favourite food, overtaking even the traditiona fish and chips to the number one spot. Of course I expect it wasn't as good as the original version but adapted to English tastes. I'll pass on anything with cola in it though thanks.

hi asweetie,
I love tandoori chicken and i like the fleshy part of the chicken tandoori if it is done properly and for that they have to marinate it whole night, i dont think most of the small shopkeers do it in Delhi or around. I love chicken tikka too and chicken biryani too. I also know you make tawa chicken really nice.

hi gowriv89,
thanks for the response and yes this chicken is addictive and i can have a piece or two even when my tummy is full. Out here in New delhi we can get whole tandoori chicken for rs 100 to 130 ie about 2 to 2 and a half dollar american, which is not very costly. Though i dont eat meat on tuesdays and thrusdays as most hindus dont eat meat or egg on those days.

Whenever I eat in an indian restaurant, I will ask the waiter whether they served tandoori chicken. I would also squeeze some lemon on it to make it more tastier.
I usually eat it with a piece of Nan ( a type of indian bread ) and with curry too.
I am getting hungry now .

hi anurag,
it is really amazing you just tasted it only four days before. I love the tandoori dishes may it be vegetarian or non vegetarian but i am surprised that you have not had this tandoori chicken before..either you are not from North India or you just became non vegetarian. Go for butter chicken and chiken tikka too if you have not tasted them before.

Yes, i like tandoori chicken and rice.
It has a lovely aromatic taste, and is also quite filling.
I like it with some Naan bread to dip in the sauce..

hi forestgold,
thanks for the response and yes if you eat butter chiken you can eat it with nan or rice. Tandoori chicken is too dry but if you like eating chicken and rice then go in for biryani. They can be chicken in rice or mutton in rice.. but mutton biryani tastes better than chicken biryani but it depends on what you like more.
