Floods always create a havoc in north India. People living in the lap of the world's highest mountains-the Himalayas, are prone to the sorrow of their natural blessing. Every year huge meandering rivers get over flooded with monsoon rains and submerge entire north India in their arms. Millions of people lose their lives; every year their houses are washed away and so are their livestock and properties.
There is no end of their sufferings, as floods are unavoidable in northern India. What Indian government could was just to make people's condition worse than ever by making deal with Nepal government for Kosi River project, which, in order to save Kathmandu valley from floods, made Bihar, Uttarpradesh and other adjacent areas of India, inevitable victims of flood forever.
See the plight of people in Floods in India in the pictures. Comments are welcome.

Well, flood planning and Disaster Management ought to be prioritized by the Government . However,it is also upto Private enterprises as well as people to avoid settling in river catchement areas and especially areas which are too much flood prone. One solution is better Housing for poor people in places slightly away from these river catchment areas.
