What is the oldest friendship you currently have going?

About twenty five years. We haven't talked in a while though and I need to give her a call.

I’m not the type of person who goes out in a group. I only have one friend back in college. She graduated first and left the town for her first job. We still communicate through text message but we seldom see each other. When I graduated, I landed on a job based to where she got her first one as well but she already got a new one from a different town when I got here. Despite of that, we still communicate. I don’t know what happen to us. Before we became closer, we had a fight along with her “friends”. They’re so b*tchy that I can’t stand to be in her group before. But we got closer, I think because we went out once and kind of like each other’s interests. She left her group and we used to go out alone together since then. We’re like friends now for years and years.

i have moved a lot. 1 yr in md, 7 yrs in wva, and now in cali. from wva to cali. but i went to many schools, elementary, wv hs, cali hs, college, post graduate, and art school. so, i have always met new people. people come and go into my life. but i occasionally write letters to some wva people once a year with christmas card in order to catch up with their lives and see what everyone is doing now.

I grew up with my best friend since I was little. I have been good friends with her for 34 years. She lives far away from me but we do call each other when we get the chance to. It is nice to have good friends like that, that you have none for years and you can tell them anything and now that your secrets are safe with your best friend.

I have many long friendships going and most of them are from my montossori days. I have 3 very good friends I have known since then and our friendhsip goes back about 50 years. Amazing is it not, especially to the young ones of these days? I have other friendships going on for 30 years, 20 years and so on. Those long time friends are the best I say cos you dont have to prove anything to them, and they know all about you. Cheers themdno.

A very close friend, 5 years.

I have been friends with a girl for over thirty years. I remember growing up with her, when she had her first date and getting married. It's a nice feeling to have that long closeness with someone. I also have a friend whom I have never met and I met her online we've been friends for over fifteen years now.

I have two very old friends who have known me since we were all 3 years old. We're now all 58 so that's 55 years..... Wow! Apart from 15 years when my husband was in the RAF, we've always lived within 4 miles of each other. A lot of the time we lived in neighbouring streets. We went through school together and have always kept in touch, sending cards and letters and being there for both the sad and happy times we've all had. Now we regularly chat on Facebook and still challenge each other on various games. As you say long relationships make you better friends, perhaps because you know so much about each other that often explanations aren't needed, and we know how friends will react to certain situations etc. I hope you have a very long and happy relationship with your friend too.

I have a person that I stay in contact with whom I have been friends with for over 50 years. We have been friends since we were small children. We had lost contact for awhile and just recently got back in touch with each other. I have even able to go see her a couple of times. We don't live in the same state, otherwise I'm sure that we would be together quite often. As it is we talk alot and e-mail a lot. Its always good to stay in contact with old friends.

My friends since I am in college is always be friend. That will be a 15 years now...have a great day!

Great span of friendship you have there! Well, my best friends were around me ever since I can remember, perhaps we were still in diapers... Our parents were best friends and we ended up being best friends as well... There's 3 girls and 2 guys among us...

The oldest friends I have, I have known since I was in grade 4, that's I think in 1994, so we have been friends for 15 years already.. the great thing is, I have a lot of friends now that I have met when I was still in grade 4, there's a lot of us, and we still meet each other regularly, and we keep ourselves updated with each other.. It's nice to have friends that have known you for a long time, cause now, there are more like sisters and brothers to me. I can't imagine life without them.

The longest friendship i have for 29 years and were still friends until now. We are childhood friends, we are neighbors, we are classmate since grade 1 until high school. I can say that I know her from head to toe.

My oldest friend is K, a woman I met when I was 17. She & I have had 30 years together, and it doesn't look like it will end any time soon. She is my best friend, the friend of my heart. I pour alot of myself into my friendships; I work at being the best friend I can be. I have another friend I've known for 30 years, and she happens to be my sister-in-law. There are 3 others who have known me 3 years, 5 years, & 8 years. I intend to be their friend until I die.

I am one who loves to have long friendships. I've been friends with one of my first girlfriends since second grade. She lives in another state but we still keep in touch via email and I do get to see her once a year. I can recall all the fun times we had as teens. She dated my husband for a very brief time and it never caused any problems with our friendship. We have been friends for approximately 55 years. Now that's a long time..lol

I have one friend since second grade - so that's like 48 years, we aren't close, but we are friends. I have another from high school, that makes 38 years, another from my sophomore year of college - 36 years and one from when I got out of college - 33 years and I've known the roomie since 84 - 25 years

i don't have much friends. i mean friends that stay with me whom i can see every day or even each week. some friends just don't have time to get in touch that often. but i have only few friends. and i don't make an effort to see them often. but i can still see them and have fun but i get bored though. i just want to have real love than just friends.

[i]My longest friendship ever was with my Cousin and two best school friends, these are still my friends.My cousin was my friend i think since she was born because she is younger to me.But now we hardly meet and there are few grudges between us which solves with time. My 2 best friends are from my school, we had spent a lot of time together but now we are different in cities but we still meet online sometimes and decided and plauo for get together which today i had a plan with her, and we mostly will meet this sunday.Hopefully i do, with these people life is full and i dont need to explain them what i am they know me so well..i love them.[/i]

Hello themdno, The longest friend i had is Liza,she's my bestfriend since 4th grade,we are friends for 30 years now.I also had other friends for a long time and it is really a good feeling that,eventhu we don't see each other so often,when time given we had the chance of meeting each other...it was like we were back in our old old times.My highschool friends were always my close and long friends...it's been 24 years ago,but still the friendship we started keeps stronger and alive.

Hi Themdno, the oldest friend I have now is 12 years ago while I was in school. We call or chat in internet every now and then, but since we live in different cities, we only met with each other every once or twice in two years. She has a son who is about one month smaller than mine. We are not getting more topic to talk about. Have a nice day and happy mylotting to you.
