My system DVD player is not working

What model is it? How long since you purchased it? When did it started to show problems? Are all the wires connected? Are you trying to watch a new DVD or something you already watched before?

Usually DVD player has this locking mechanism that detects region code. Once it was set on certain code it will only play on that code only.Are using an original DVD movie? Probably it was lock on a certain code and you are inserting the wrong DVD.

Basically Sony have good branding as well as quality but if you run cheap quality dvd or damaged one that will effect on lenses. So you may be running with lenses problem. Well frankly, the sony product has some problem in always reading the dvds and cds. Take the dvd drive alone and open it. you feel some uncomfortable when opening. After opening that, there was one lens which will be covered by dust. Remove those dust clearly and assemble those parts again. I think then it will work properly.
