Im trying to stay away from the typical medications and go with more natural ways of dealing with things for my grandson because i think it would be healthier. Hes really teething bad! Weve tried cold teething toys like teether rings and he dont like them in fact seems to make him worse. Ive heard other people says vanilla extract works good but not sure if its a good idea or not. What have other mylotter mommys tried?

I did use some medications which I rubbed on my kids' gums when they were babies. It gave them a lot of comfort. At the same time, I gave them something cold like a soft towel which I put in the freezer/fridge for awhile and they sink their gums on this. Otherwise, I tried to massage their gums with my finger and this helped as well.

As far as pain I cant help, but we always let our children chew on a leather circle that had at one time been a coaster :0 They all loved it and it really did seem to help. I have had 7 children and each one has chewed on a leather piece to break the teeth through. Just a piece of my life :)

I am so sorry your grandson has to be really upset. My daughter never really had a problem with teething but my baby sister who is turning 3 had such a hard time she would cry and cry she also got fevers from it. my mom and dad would give her peeled carrots it did help some. She also hated the teething rings. She never got her first tooth until her first birthday. So I would say just try different things sooner or later you will find something that works. I hope this helps you out.
