I prefer to bake bread because it is so much better when it is home cooked. Store boughten bread is just plain. Home cooked bread you can make it just right and home cooked stuff always taste better in my book. Home cooked bread comes from the heart. If you know anything about cooking you will know what I am talking about.

I myself have never made homemade bread, though I've wanted to for the longest time. My mom buys from the store, but my grandma makes homemade bread and rolls. We love going to her house for supper, because her food is always the best! I know everyone says their grandma is the best cook, but seriously, even all my friends have tasted her cooking and told me that my grandma cooks better than their own grandmas! I want to learn so much from her still, including how she makes those rolls!

im a qualified baker & still like baking bread at home all though it is very different to commercial baking as you dont have access to the same ingredients or machinery allthough its possable to produce nice bread at home
can also be very creative as you cant necassarilly buy a speciality loaf af bread from your local baker as we only produce bread that is commercially viable one offs arent possable

Home cooked bread definitely tastes better, but store bought bread is so cheap that it wins, in my book. Plus, it doesn't take hours to make, and a ton of dirty dishes.

this is just something i do not have the time to do but there is nothing like fresh baked bread and the smell is just awesome. i wish i had time for such things but the sad fact is that i am overwhelmed with working three jobs from home to make ends meet and taking care of the home and my son and the dog. so buying bread is one way to save time for me.

I've never baked bread. I've never baked anything period. I don't know anything about cooking and baking, but I would like to learn someday. Right now I just don't have the time to learn so I just buy my food. Maybe that's why I've been gaining weight. I really need to eat more healthy foods.

i admire u with ur baking abilities... even to the point of being envious, lol. i would rather go and choose bread from the baker's counter rather than bake (which i don't know actually, lol). i may say that i am quite good at the crafts department but not in the kitchen

If I honestly knew how to bake bread, I really would! There's a certain homey feeling to home-baked bread rather than the store-bought ones.
I remember back then, when my parents were still working in an international school somewhere in the Middle East, one of my favorite mothers (my mom was working in the daycare of that school) was really very, very kind to us. There were times when she surprised us (I helped out with the work during vacation hehe) with a loaf of newly baked bread, with a container of butter too :) She'd come in the daycare with a paper bag, the steaming bread inside. It was an act of love. She'd attach a small card alongside the bag, with the message "Thank you my dearest Daycare Ladies! I can never thank you enough for taking care of my kids. I do appreciate what you're doing." And sometimes, she'd bring homemade muffins too :)

Me and my family are natural born cookers and baking bread is a vital skill to cook more complicated dishes. With baking your own bread you can make it anyway you want to make it, plain, sweet, spicy. It is all very delicious.

There are various kinds of breads we can make or buy from outside. So which bread you are talking about? I have tasted couple of breads like arabic bread like kaboose, indian breads like roti, naan, ordinary bakery bread, Iranian breads etc, etc. I do not know how to cook all of these breads. I know only some of them. I prepare them sometimes at home and sometimes i get from outside. But ordinary bakery bread I always purchase from outside only.

I buy bread from the store, for one because I don't know exactly how to bake it myself. Though even if I did, I probably wouldn't do it often because I'm lazy, haha. It's probably fairly easy with a breadmaker, I'm sure, but I certainly can't afford one of those right now. Homemade bread is delicious, though. I would consider making pumpkin bread, though (but I don't that counts since it's not regular bread, more cake-ish).

I love to eat homemade bread. But I don´t think it´s worth it just for one person as I live alone. Still, I just bought leavening to make some bread with more seeds that I need for my healrh. Recipes are welcome!
I love to cook but I haven´t made brread since the kids were at the house.
Happy posting!

Hi tuckersheri,
I agree home cooked stuff is always better, but I don't know how to bake a bread..LOL! So I usually buy it from a store or bakery. I tried it before but I don't actually succeed. :( I love cooking but I'm not really into baking. Maybe I'll try to learn again so I could enjoy eating my favorite bread.

All homemade are very nice and make us comfortable. We are very sure that they're clean because we are the one made it. The taste is good for us and we don't limit the ingredients.
But we usually buy bread, because of convenience and accessible. It is because baking a bread need time to prepare and bake it.
