Would you rather sleep in a tent or cabin when camping?

I hate tents and think they are uncomfortable to sleep in. They are not well insolated. I love cabins because I have more of a shelter and it has alot better insolation. Cabins have bedrooms and a kitchen unlike a tent. I feel more comfortable in a cabin. I am not a outdoor person and I like to stay away from the bugs. Also if it rains you have more protection in a cabin. I guess you could say I am a cabin girl.

I think a tent is more authentic for camping. You have a greater choice of location with a tent since it is portable unlike the average cabin. However, I wouldn't like to spend more than a couple of nights in a row in a tent.

It is perfectly possible to make a tent comfortable, even in the depths of winter. I would like to post two photographs here to show how to do it. However, having uploaded two photographs to MyLot I now can't see how to post them here. Can someone tell me how that is done please?

personally (and this may be shocking to some people) but i would much rather sleep in a tent. now of course it depends how old the cabin is. i mean if it is brand new then i would probably sleep in there. but sometimes i just like the feeling of sleeping in a tent for some reason. and of course if the tent is ripped apart and infested with bugs then it is a no brainer to sleep in a cabin. now, lets say both of them are about to fall don't and bug infested, here is my advise for you: sleep in a hotel!

Cabin all the way!!!! I have slept in tents before and everything you own including yourself gets damp. They do not keep out the cold or heat, and talk about confining.....with 4 kids the biggest tent we could find was STILL too small.

I have always done my camping in a tent. I have never stayed in a cabin, though I think that could be a lot of fun. I actually do not do as much camping as I used to do. When I was younger, I spent a lot of my time camping in the Summer, but, that was before the days of being a parent.

Come on! it's not really camping if you sleep in a cabin. Part of the fun of camping is roughing it in the outdoors. What better place to sleep than in a tent. You might miss the modern conveniences as you lay curled up in a sleeping bag in your tent, but isn't thay what going camping is about? Adventure and new experiences!

I guess, I am the same as you. I would myself like to spend the night in the cabin, cause atleast I wont get bit by bugs or fear intrusion by snakes or other animals. Also at times of high wind and heavy rain, I can keep warm and cook myself a good meal for the weather to last. Take Care

I think it depends on the weather if it rains I wish that I was in a cabin but the other times a tent is nice I have tried it both ways and the only difference is that a cabin has soft beds and a tent you have to take it all so I would say a tent is my best bet.

I can no longer remember the last time I slept in a tent. It was so long ago. It was a good experience though. I have never gone out camping then got a cabin and I would love to try that. I’m not into camping but I guess that’s one thing I would like to do before I die. hehehe..

We camped sometime before and I must say I must hate the cabins.. The last cabin we used was okay... but then it turned out that the lavatory was full of Tarantulas.. I'm arachnophobic and sh*t.. That was very traumatizing... So every time we go out camping I'd always stay in our tent... It's more comfortable and warmer than the cabin anyway..

i will sleep at the tent! you see, it's a camping so its best to sleep in a tent. when going camping, i could imagine it to be outdoors with barbecues, lighting camp fires, gathered around with your friends and of course a tent to sleep. you can feel the adventure when you are outside sleeping in a tent.

..Hi tuckersheri, I guess you can say that I am just not "woodsy". I was born in Georgia, but I cannot ever remember going into the woods to camp or just to hike. I don't fancy bugs, snakes, bears or anything that wants to chase me to see how I might taste :o). I love movies about people tramping around in the woods and sitting around a campfire telling stories and roasting various things, river rafting and such, but I love the city and the stores on the corner, and my bathroom down the hall. The outdoorsy gene just didn't show up in my DNA. But I admire people who have fun doing it and manage to come back home without being attached by poison ivy. Now if somehow, some groovy person talks me into going camping, reserve the cabin, can't sleep on the ground in a tent, even with a sleeping bag, too close to the creatures. Take care. :o)

I've never gone camping and I don't think it's something I'd like to do. But if there were a situation where I had to go camping, I would pick a cabin over a tent. My main concern with tents is how unstable and flimsy they are. If there were a storm or wild animals, a cabin would be much better protection against those things. A tent could easily fall apart or fly away in a storm, or be shredded by a bear or wolf. And I shouldn't forget the threat of other people. In a cabin, I could lock the door, or at least put up something very heavy at the door so no one could break in. I don't have the ability to do that with a tent. I would feel a lot safer sleeping in a cabin than a tent. I would also like to avoid bugs. With cabins, I know they would easily get inside, just as bugs get inside houses, but with a tent, I would feel like I am much closer to bugs.

No way would I sleep in a tent. It would have to be the cabin nice and toasty with a fire burning, water, bathroom and kitchen. I could do without a TV and hair dryer.

I guess if I wanted to be more closer with nature, I would go with a tent. But I would much prefer going inside a cabin. Its much more insulated and sturdier than a tent. Plus it gives you a bathroom and kitchen area. I would find a cabin more relaxing too.

if i have small children with me while camping, i would rather chose to sleep in a cabin. i would be "assured" to sleep through the night safely and comfortably. if we were all adults going to camp out, i think it will be adventurous to sleep in tents and experience being out there with either makeshift tents or sleeping bags. it would be a different experience sleeping with the stars in direct view while "i close my eyes", hahaha.

I like to sleep inside the tent during camping because it is a basic requirements that you have really tried the camping procedure. What is really important in the camping is you have been away from your home and a change of your daily routine. During camp, I always look forward to sleep inside the tent.

I'd picked a cabin without hesitation. I've done a lot of campings when I was a kid and I'm not really comfortable sleeping on tents. I hate how the ground touches my back. I can't sleep well and it offers little protection when it rains or even from insects/bugs.
