hi balhabalha,
well these days virginity is not a big thing to most of person in the west but ask any Indian guy and he would prefer his wife to be virgin and this is one thing which is asked above everything else. So even though it is very tempting to loose the virginity but i would gift mine when i get married to my husband.

yes i think it is really important. For a girl to be a virgin on her wedding night means she can give something unique to her husband

I think it depends on what culture a person belongs to and how it is regarded. In most of the western world, the pride someone has in their virginity is rare, although I have known some people who are proud that they have not given way to the pressures of their peers.
Personally, I would extend respect and honour a person's wishes to remain a virgin.
