I think that's what happen to me. I GAIN WEIGHT. couple pounds, but I know I don't want to gain more. I don't know why, but the weather getting cooler, i get hungry more often , and somehow I eat more than when the weather is hot.
What makes your appetite bigger? Is it the cold weather like me? Or is it when you stress? Or you blame it on Holiday Feast?

Hi ibuemma...
I know that I do the same. I eat more during the winter months than I do any other time of the year. I asked my doctor about this and he said that I probably had what is called seasonal depression. I had never heard of that but he does have a point. When someone is depressed they will have the tendency to eat more. I guess maybe I might have that.. Oh well, I guess maybe I just need to exercise a little more...LOL..Have a great evening..

Hi ibuemma
Yes I go for that. The holidays are rough and expensive too. I glad we only have to deal with that once a year.. I still enjoy the holidays and buying the gifts too.

It can be because of a ton of things. I know right now college has absolutely killed my weight. I think so far I've gained at least the 15 lbs and I wouldn't be surprised if within the next 2 years I gain more.
For me its stress, parties, late night snacks, etc. because so much is going on.
Stress is a big factor and the thing is in the colder weather people are less likely to walk and go outside and do exercise and be activity which can affect your metabolism.
The best thing is to stay active, watch what you're eating, try not to stress, and if you're getting hungry throughout the day try eating 5 small meals compared to 3 larger ones.

I think I tend to eat a little more when the weather is colder, but I really try to limit my intake. I occassionally eat when I am stressed out, but generally, the opposite is true, if I am stressed I eat less than I do when I am feeling great. I think that when I gain weight this time of year, it has more to do with inactivity than appetite. I am not outdoors doing nearly as much as I do when the weather is nicer, so I am not quite as active.

usually is pretty much the same activity. Between my job that make move all the time and my kids' school activity that require me to go out even in the cold weather, i have to admit that I do eat more! Yikes
Plus all that holidays and birthdays and couples weddings, it all good food..LOL

It's a bit cooler here in the tropics because it's the ber months. And during this time I get to eat a lot more than the usual. This is also the season of storms and heavy rains causing the air to be a little cooler than usual. And during this time it's always nice and fun to bake something and eat or even just munching something while trying to warm up.
Much more when Christmas is the way and parties are abound. Hmmm, one sure gain weight if not extra careful. Anyways, there's always the new year to lok forward to for dieting and exercising. LOL

hello ibuemma,
I have gain weight within these past few days due to the typhoon. that's because i can't walk across the neighborhood due to it's rains.and probably because of stress, i had been having my midnight meal or snack almost a it often now. but today am trying to do it slow at least for a weak to see if it doesn't affect my every day do's.

I think you do eat less when yopu're flustered and tired out and that is what happens in hot weather.
However, in cold weather you do feel more like staying at home and that encourages you to eat more.
Probably cold weather makes you eat more in the long run. If you have nothing to do you also eat more.

It's funny because I'm actually the total opposite of that! I tend to eat much less during the winter/fall than in the summer. It's mainly because work gets busier, I get more stressed, I'm in school, so I have in general less time to sit down and eat. Whereas in the summer, when I'm not in school, I tend to eat just because I'm bored. . Definitely eat less in the winter.

For me, I eat more in the winter and eat heavier foods to maintain my energy level while I am performing my activities, but I think because I am trying to stay warm, or because I am actually doing more stuff when it is cold outside while trying to stay warm. I find that I am constantly hungry, especially if I have been outside for a period of time. My family hates my stomach because I would eat before I go outside, and after I come in. I eat that much. I put on quite a few pounds, but it helps me bulk up, while I lift weight. I can't even tell you my calorie intake because it seems like I am eating 24 hours a day. I am never full. I find myself buying a loaded shopping cart full of groceries every few days because I practically empty the refrigerator by myself

True, very true. I don't know why, I always become hungry when the weather is cool (even being in air conditioner room make me hungry) I tend to chew more food. I think being in cold room or weather makes our metabolism become faster, thus we'll be hungry for more food. But I don't learn Biology so I don't know whether this is true.

I believe with me its the same. I usually gain up to 5 lbs in the winter between the cold weather and the holidays. I will try this year to cut down on intake and continue to eat more healthy with healthy snacks. However, I just can't wait for Thanksgiving dinner.

Cool eather make my appetite bigger. I think it's because cold weather make us feel weak so we have to compensate this feeling eating more- and gaining weight unfortunetly.

Oh my... I eat sooo much whenever it gets cold, luckily I have a really fast metabolism. but whenever its really hot I don't eat that much I just get thirsty all day i'm kind of wierd that way. but I hate the cold and food makes you happy so i guess it makes sense lol. the funny thing is that I live in southern california so it never gets that cold but i'm already freezing. today was the first cold day!!

Cold definitely makes you gain because it wants to insulate. Though it could be cravings for all you know. im sometimes like that and i need to control myself especially when it rains or if i m in the office. What you need to do during cold weather is to sweat so to you can produce heat. the body is looking to compensate in whatever weather it experiences.

Hi, I think I am the same with you. When the weather becomes cold, I want to eat more, sometimes too much more. In contrast, in the summer, the weather is so hot that I do't like to eat something. Therefore, I will lose weight in summer and increase weight in winter.
