I almost always get an aisle seat for medium and long trips and a window seat for short trips (one hour or less), but lately, I've sat in the middle seat, and I don't mind it as much as I used to, but that's only for short flights. Do you have a preference on which seat to sit when you are in an airplane?

When travelling alone (short or long haul flights), I must get an aisle seat because I frequently need to go the loo. This way, I don't disturb anyone. However, when travelling with my kids, I usually take the middle seat to make sure I can attend to both their needs. It is also useful to be in the middle to arbitrate their quarrels.Yes, they quarrel everywhere.

i will go for a window seat any day. i love to look at the scenery. of course if you wanna book a flight and get the seat you want, u must book early. Unfortunately i don't get to travel that much so i cant get experience seat by the window. Im still hoping someday i can get to travel. i admire backpackers. They just go anywhere they want without the fear of not having enough money. they do mange to get a job in that city. Well usually a lot of them have a degree so its no biggie.

When flying I always like to get the window seat. Then I can see out on take off and landing. I can sometimes see some amazing views. Like coming home from Kenya I saw the pyramids of Egypt. I went to the Maldives and then a trip on a small plane I saw the coral reef and the tropical islands below.

I have tried all and I like the window seat. It’s amazing when you get to see what’s below. Second would be the aisle part. It’s nice to see people on board and besides you can still see what’s below. Middle seat is not preferable for me; I’m just not comfortable sitting between two unknown people. Hehehe..

My preferences are the same as yours, eclectivesteve. I like the window seat because I like knowing where I am and looking outside at the often amazing views but on longer flights I prefer the aisle so that I don't have to climb over people if I want to get up and stretch my legs.

For me it is anything but the middle seat. I feel like I am totally boxed in when I am surrounded on all sides by people. I really like the window seat because it is always so cool to look out the window, but on the other hand I also really like the aisle seat because it seems like you have a little bit more room. The last time that I flew I had the aisle seat because we had my son with us who was an infant in lap so I needed that little bit of extra space, and we let our daughter have the window seat because it was her first time in a plane.

Window seat. Middle makes me feel claustorphobic, and the window always offers such a cool view!

Aisle seat for me. The view in the window seat is spectacular, but I don't know... I get so clautrophobic when I'm in the window or middle seat. When I'm in the aisle seat, I feel that I'm safe, can move easily and shift my weight.

If there is a single seat I dread, it's the middle seat by far! I would prefer the window seat on any flight, if I didn't think I'd have to get up and go to the bathroom! :D So like you, on those longer flights I actually prefer the aisle seat so I don't have to worry about bothering anyone beside me.
