Almost everything is remote control nowadays We change the channels on our tv while sitting on our comfortable couch. Our car can be open/lock using remote control. Our air-cond unit using remote control. I have a friend, even her house ceiling fan is remote control. My neighbour house's gate is remote control! Is there any more items that is remote controlled? Or what would you like to be remote control? Is it good, or is it bad? Share your views and ideas here? Cheers and happy myLotting!

Yes the one that you sent me earlier through some other discussion. Please get it activated for me. I would like to have that one. A dream remote control. Luckily for all of us the main remote control is in the hands of God. Otherwise just imagine what all would have happened here on this earth. There is a constant fight between children at home for the tv remote control. Every one wants to see their favourite channel. Luckily they are well behaved infront of the guests. When there are guests at home none of the children touch the remote control. Imagine the scenes if you have more remote controls at home for every thing. So it is better not to have any more as it will make us more lazy and uncomfortable. Hope to see you again with new discussions.

Oh...that special remote control, not approved yet! I knew currently there is a craze on Nintendo Wii. We can play sport by holding this remote control and swing the bowling bowl, or racket and can play golf too. Perhaps can get one for your children if they get good result in their studies...then they won't fight for other remote controls...just joking! In actual fact, one of my friend's 12 years old daughter has a fall and broke her arm. The phisiotherapist advised her to get the Nintendo Wii for her daughter to practice swinging her arms playing Wii Sport. It seems it improved alot. Wow, a game that is good for health and phisio Thanks for sharing, truly appreciate it!

Dear Cupid, You have a very good and important point that makes me ponder. Your last sentence is really appropriate! 'Despite of all these facilities, time is getting short' Looking at online banking that avoid us from long queue at the bank counter or ATM machine. The auto gate that saves the hassle of coming out from the car with an umbrella to personally open the gate during rains. Remote control for our DVD, Tv etc that makes our life easy and save time, yet we still complaint 'No time to do many things!' ~ a food for thought! Thanks and take care

Hi Iriene! I would like our washing machine should also work with a remote control device, besides there should be a remote control to switch off/on our PC. Doors of our cupboards should also be remote controlled. If there is any pet in the house, there should be device fitted in his/her body so that s/he could also work if we press the remote control button…………..LOL! The list could be endless……LOL!

Dear Deepak, I agree with you, the list could be endless! Remote control on pets, that's interesting but I bet the pets would not like it!...LOL Remote control cupboards like the one depict in the movie 'Princess Diary 2'..great invention! Love it. Oh yes, I am a bit lazy to on/off the computer and wait for it to shut down. It takes quite awhile. If this can be remote control, then it will be fantastic! Great idea, thanks!

Remote Control! What an idea! This is definitely the way our lives are heading. I watched this program that focused on the future and it showed some possible future homes and everything in the home was carried out via remote control. There was this huge tv screen and you could press a remote and focus on different areas of the home to see where all your loved ones were, very futuristic! I think that the remote control idea is a very good one. It is certainly very handy for those people that are not able to everything for themselves, they only have to press a button and bob's your uncle! I personally like remote control and hope that I live long enough to see some dramatic changes in the future. Andrew

Dear Andrew, Oh yes, we are living in 'quite' a futuristic world. I like the program that you watched. Sounds very interesting! Technologies nowadays has moved at a very fast pace. I heard of this craze over Nintendo Wii. We can play sport by holding this remote control and swing the bowling bowl, or badminton racket & golf club too. It seems that remote control has taken over much of our daily activities. Thanks for sharing and cheers!

Hi Iriene, well in truth the only remote control that still controls anything in this house is the one for the television as the DVD player is broken. That's it. What should be remote controlled is the coffee pot, then I could wake in the morning and press a button from my bed and have the coffee automatically made and delivered from the kitchen.

Car is also a remote control but I think it is already common. Having remote control things is very helpful for your convenience but the bad side here is it teach people to get more lazy and more dependent on the technology. The question here is what if we lost electricity?

Dear Irene, Glad to have you back here. Nowadays, more and more things came with remote control. The remote control massage chair, auto gate, auto fan etc. Talking about automation and electricity. It seems, those automation truly depends on the electricity. I remembered seeing my neighbour manually open and pushed their huge and heavy gate when there was an electricity failure. Thanks for sharing, happy myLotting!

There was a product that would start a car by remote control but haven't heard anymore about it in the last couple of years. I know it was on the market. This is something that is good and bad. Great way to warm up or cool off the car before getting into it but doesn't seem safe. Wouldn't mind having a remote to start my dryer once the clothes are loaded. Don't feel safe leaving the dryer on when I'm not at home because it's a fire hazzard. Have 16 steps from the upstairs, computer room to the laundry area and there are times I'd like to have the dryer running but am too lazy to run down the steps.

Dear carolbee, I too heard about the remote control that can start the car to cool it first, but nothing is arriving here yet You are definitely have a very good view there, at times we need to think of its safety feature. SAFETY FIRST! I remembered we have to get the new batteries for our air-cond unit remote control, because without it we can't start the air-cond. Sometimes we rely too much on it. Thanks and take care!

It is true remote control provides great convenience. However, it also gives the convenience of having the remote control our lives. We seem to be so reliant on the remote that we are too lazy even to move a few steps to switch on/off the equipment/gadget. It may not be too good after all. loll.

Dear whyaskq, Yes, this happened once when we cannot find our television remote control. My hubby can't remember which button to press manually to set it into video mode. Lost touch! We were so stress when our air-conditioning unit remote control run out of battery. There is no way to activate the air-cond unit without the remote control. We have to look high and low for the replacement battery by taking them out temporary from other remote control..LOL. Too reliant on remote control!

Iriene88, I just do not see anything bad about these remote controls as they are just helping and conveniencing us. Nowadays, we are having smart homes, where electricity is being optimized. Imagine, water heated just before you take your shower and switching off upon optimize time. Then, air condition at certain time of the day or night when you are at home or when certain high temperatures detected. However, there will be an issue where we might find ourselves flooded with several remote controls. Universal remote controls may be a solution here, but we will still need to program learn them.

experts had been saying that it is these kinds of machines (remote controlled ones) that contribute to obesity in developed countries. i do believe battery manufacturers profit a lot from this. however, it is not only remote controlled appliances that contribute to health problems. mere presence of a lot of household appliances are sources of these problems: like the humble dishwasher. experts are saying that mere washing of dishes manually burns calories.

Dear Ritchelle, Reading your response really makes me happy Why?? 1) Glad to hear from you again. 2) What you wrote make me feel good! I wash my family and my own clothes with hands. Our old washing machine spoilet a bout a year ago. I wash my car manually by hands too with the left over water from washing the clothes. But final rinse for the car using clean water :) I did my own dish washing, it is definitely a good exercise. Good for the body and wallet too Thanks and do keep in touch!

Iriene, Yes almost everything is in remote control. How nice If we can stay at home and remote control our work in the office at the press of a button. Now we can even start our car engine and air con with a remote on a hot sunny day. When we reach our car it is already cooled.

James, You mean we can get this remote control to start the car aircond without manually do it? Is it in our Malaysian market already? I like your idea of remote control our works at the office from home. I believe it can be done soon. Looking at online banking, we manage to escape from long queue at bank counter or ATM machine.
