I have around 5,000+ songs.it has different genres.my mood dictates which song I want to listen to.I love variety.I love listening to different songs.

hey cool man i have only 200+ songs i dont like stuffing it with songs neither i have the one with high memory specs mine is 2 GB
so i keep it limited to my favorites only

makes sense, because you really can't listen to all 20000 songs at a time if you have really have that capacity. but well anyway, i do know someone who has 20 ipod shuffles at home and he had that kind of pieces because he just pick up any shuffle with the playlist he wants to listen to rather than placing all the songs in one ipod. it's a bit weird i know.haha

Right now, I have 2772 songs on my ipod. Unfortunately, about 2 years ago, I had an external hard drive with 500 gig & I had little over 47,000 songs on it but it got fried by surge. I lost pretty much all of my songs & now I'm trying to get some of the albums back. Since then, I've gotten another external hard drive & this one has 640 gig on it. Just today, I borrowed 5 cds from my friend & got'em on to my external hard drive then to my ipod.
