We don't like to get older but its' inevitable, well all go through that stage whether we like it or not. We do have some fear when we think about those time to come. My greatest fear would be when I can no longer do the right things, and most of the time forget how to perform basic things. I fear to lose my memory. Do you have any fears when you think about getting old? If you do, what are they?

When I'm old I fear of getting more older that means my time in this world is shorting... And yet I still have lots of things to do and want. I fear to grow old alone. I fear that no one will take care of me and if ever I have children, they will bring me to a nursing home and I don't like to grow old there. I fear of what will happen but I guess I will just need to live life to the fullest and to take each day at a time.

Yeah, we all fear of being alone when we get older. As I have witnessed those aged people when I work as a volunteer in a nursing home abroad. They were so helpless, some of them cried when they hold my hand as if like they thought me as their children because their children never visit and abandon them. That's a sad reality. Yeah, you're right the best thing we can do today is enjoy the moment, live to the fullest and be happy because when we get older it's only the memories that's left and make us happy as well. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and have a great day!

Hi: that's a nice question and i would answer that my greatest fear has nothing to do with my physical appereance but in my feelings. I have noticed that some old persons change so much in their personalities, they tourn very shy, can't hardly understand what people say to them, fear to be alone. I want to be as good as it's possible when i get old, being an active person.

Oh, that's a nice answer starsailover, Because when we get older there become a boundaries towards our interaction with other people. Yeah it must be real great if we'd still able to manage to interact with other people and still live an active life. Since it must be scary to live alone, and being active as much as possible is great thing. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and have a great day!

Hey careguarden! I am getting older and it is damn scarry! I can no longer do alot of the things that I used to be able to with ease! Today I went to the next city up from where I live. Now normally that isn't such a big deal. I have a bit of a walk from my apartment to the bus stop and then we met and did a bit of walking around to the places I wanted to go to. I was totally exhausted and I still had more things I wanted to do! My girlfriend is 13 years younger than I am, but wasn't feeling well so she was walking slower than usual and was tired too! I can't do what I used to do and it really bothers me. My boyfriend is also 11 years younger than me and he knows that I "run out of gas" quicker than he does! He called me while I was in Walmart and asked me what I was doing and I told him I was sitting on the floor looking for something in my handbag! He wasn't a bit surprised! But, the surprising thing is that I can still get up from the floor without help! My other girlfriend who is 6 years younger than me can't get up from that position!

Yeah, it can real frustrating when we can no longer do everything that we used to with ease. Even on walking and lifting things. It's hard to accept our incapability. Our inability to recall and the declining all of our senses. Well good for you that you're much able compare to your other friends who is younger than you. It's getting older that make us appreciate our younger days. Anyway thank you for sharing with us my friend opal and enjoy your day!

My greatest fear hen I get older is to become a responsibility to my family. When we get older we had a chance to loose our memory, we will failed to do basic things like eating, cleaning our body and we even become childish. I dont want that to happened so its ok for me to die at the age of 60.

Yeah, mostly we fear being a burden to our family or to anybody. You know once I'd work as a volunteer in institution for aged people. And I really felt pity for them they're all sitting in a wheelchair they're incapable to bathe or cloth their self and everything, I was wondering why they're still alive. The doctor told me that their children never bother to visit them. That's scares me when I try to vision myself in their place. That's why like you It's okay if I die at the age of 60. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and have a great day!

Though I have passed the prime of my youth, I don't consider myself old and surprisingly I don't think I fear anything. There are moments that I'm a little sad and how I wish I can start all over again. I might be able to live a different kind of life with all the lessons that living taught me. And not be able to the things I used to do specially physical ones, is a little frustrating. But life is like this and everything is moving towards that direction. have fun.

I guess I would fear not being able to take care of myself and having to have someone else do everything for me. I would truly hate that. Also I would hate to have have a bag for my bodily waste that would be aweful. If I am that bad that I have to have that or that I can't do anything on my own any more I would just not rather be alive in that case.

When I think of getting older I fear losing my memory or not being able to take care of myself. My parents are in their 70's and are still able to get around and haven't started to lose their minds yet. So that gives me alot of hope for myself.

Oh, I'm glad to know that you're parents on their age are still doing well. I guess how we live in our younger days will surely affect when we get older. Like if we live a healthy lifestyle and avoid any vices then more likely we would still be healthy when we get older. Though there are some rare cases that even though they'd live a healthy lifestyle when they get older their health condition deteriorate more. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

I am afraid when my old age can not do fun things that I often do when i was a youth like to go camping hiking into the countryside. Sometimes I also think the old me would be susceptible to disease and eventually the family trouble. Things like this are often disturbing and makes me my age when stress is increasing. Even my old next year will be "headed" 2 and so dizzy I had remembered it. Hmmm .. maybe I'm just afraid of losing their youth. Haha .

I don't really have a problem with getting older in general. However, I have diabetes and arthritis (I am 35 and have had diabetes for about 8 years, and arthritis since I was 10) so I do sometimes worry about the complications I could have with those when I am older. On the other hand, when all my elderly friends are moaning about their arthritis, it'll just be normal for me so maybe its an advantage!!

I agree with you that there is so much thing that we can't do when we get older and that's what I afraid most. One thing in my mind that I afraid most is the change of my skin when I get old and I can't wear dresses that I used to wear right now. I am also afraid of the loss of memory if I get old.
