dear fellows, do you learn from movies and TV series ? if the answer is yes, then what do you learn from them?
I have the habit of taking notes when I am watching a foreign movie because I am not an English native speaker, so watching movies means more than entermainment for me because it's a good platform for me to learn the culture and thoughts as well as the language itself. I find it very effective to learn from these bcause you can learn very latest words nd expressions and edgy words. That's so cool !

I do.
Sometimes it's good for a laugh, or a distraction from a stressful day. But mostly, I like to watch shows on ancient civilizations, health issues, animals, countries I've never been to (and will probably never get to go to). Shows that will let me learn more about something that I find interesting.

I definitely can learn from movies and TV shows, not only because my mother tongue is English, but i do feel that in some movies they do have some good stuff for us to learn from, for example, in spiderman I, there is this saying "great power comes great respondsibilities", isn't that true? many examples like this in american movies. I really think this is a good thing for hollywood movies, not many chinese movies has this habit. even in tv shows, when it comes to the dirty words like the f word, in american movies they often avoid it by a sound, but in chinese tv show, you often heard such words, i do think we need to learn from the americans regarding this.
