No matter how hard I try to think but I have never been able to come up with any discussion interesting enough to fetch me a lot of responses. The maximum number of responses I have got for any of my discussions is 29(that was for one of my started discussions quite sometime back).
So I just thought, why not seek my fellow mylotters help in this.
Just wanted to know the kind of discussions that attracts you to respond to it?
Do you only go through the subject and respond to a discussion whose subject you find interesting or is it the content of the discussion which catches your fancy?
Please do let me know.

Where I respond depends on my mood and the circumstances at the time. If I am not feeling particularly jolly because of an incident offline or something a friend might be going through then I don't feel like responding on the fun topics and tend to stick to more serious things.
Usually that is not the case though and I respond wherever I see a fun topic. If I see a heated debate I skip it always. I don't come online to get heated but to relax.
I don't start many discussions myself because unless I have something particularly special to post I prefer responding and commenting on other discussions. Earnings are not affected as we are paid for what we post so it makes no difference whether we start our own or respond on others just as long as we are active.
Don't worry if you are not coming up with ideas as they will come once you stop trying to find them

Hello.
Thanks a lot for your response.I am happy that you did find my discussion interesting enough to respond.:)
I have seen it here that people usually go for fun topics rather than the serious ones.Even I do that and I will try to start more fun discussions in future. And even I do avoid controversial topics because as you said internet should help people relax.
Anyways thanks once again for the response.
Keep posting and happy mylotting.

Ones that I have some kind of experience with and can make an intelligent response to.
I guess that leaves the field wide open.
My best advice is to use subjects that cover a wide area of appeal.
Ones that a lot of people could relate to.
How else can I put it ?

Hello there.
Well I guess I am getting your point. The topic should be something which a lot of people find interesting and have good knowledge.Something like music or movies which almost everyone likes, right!

I usually read about the topic which author wants to talk and need to response. And then, I think can I answer or response this discussion. If I can answer or response this discussion, I will answer by everything I know and by myself. If I cannot, I will skip this discussion and I will answer later (when I really know my ability to answer this) and go to next discussion.

Yes that is the way even I go about.
I guess everyone here prefer responding to discussions on topics they have some knowledge. So the more general the topic the more responses one gets.
Well thanks a lot for your response.

Hello there.
Thanks a lot for your response.
Well you said you respond to a discussion if the subject happens to be in your interest. So,do you only check the discussion subject or you also do go through the content of each and every discussion and then decide which one to respond to?
Anyways do keep posting and happy mylotting.

No, actually my interests are not pre-decided, I mean, I do not think that I will response to this subject and will not to that subject, I use to open discussions then read the full discussion and the responses, and after that if I have some more information on that discussion's subject, I use to response. If I have some information which almost similar/against any response, I use to comments there.

Well that is actually a nice to go about it actually.
Sometimes when you see the subject you may feel of having something to say on it but the content of discussion may actually be something else.
Anyways thanks a lot once again.

hello shreed, I prefer to response to discussion that I am interested in, especially those ones which aspire me when I see it. Sometimes when I see the title and content of the discussion, I have something in mind, then I will response, but sometimes when I see a discussion, and find that they are too complicated to explain, then i would quit.
We have to admit that there are some boring topics in mylot, so i will neglect those ones sometimes. it depends on my mood.

See! You have started a discussion that has attracted me to respond to your topic-so, it only means that as far as I am concerned it must be a topic that helps me write a few lines. Normally, I respond to discussions started by friends. In most of the cases that would be of interest to me. In rare cases it won't interst me; but here I would still peep in and say so and then write something imaginary and I would see how much I can contribute to it.

Hi shreed... at last you have found out a good discussion topic(which no one else thought of starting)....if the topic is quite easy...relevant to my interest... if i know what should i respond then i will go on with posting comments... but hardly i like only 4 or 5 discussions every day... if its relating love, friends, money, clothes, kids, dogs and health then i find it interesting to repond to...

Thanks a lot for your response gowriv.
I have noticed that there are some topics that everyone is interested in and would like to have a say like music, movies, clothes, internet and all.So I guess if one starts a simple discussion under such a topic it attracts more responses.
I will try to keep that point in mind when I start a new discussion from the next time.
Anyways thanks once again for your response.

Hi shreed_(173)
Always write a topic that let anybody free to answer and if you're not a puritan just ask us what do we think about... sexuality, being bold etc. There is so much subjects, I think that you are afraid to tell you thoughts but not out of subjects, aren't you?

Hi shreed_14!
I prefer to reply to discussions that I have knowledge on. I would also reply to discussions that are of my interest. I try to avoid discussions that are not my cup of tea. Sometimes, when the topic is quite controversial, I would think several times first before responding.

I mostly respond to discussions in the my interests section as i find it faster to respond to lots of discussions from there. Then i move to the top discussions to respond as we have chances of getting ratings and best responses from there. Then i go to friends started discussions so we can exchange our views and keep in touch with each other.I also respond to discussions in the mylot digest so that at the end of the day i feel i have completed all the work in mylot.

I do read the discussions and if they sound interesting, and I can give my views, then I will respond. I only do those that interest me, and it doesn't really matter if it is the money ones, mylot, or others. As long as it is interesting enough for me to respond, then I will take the time to respond to it. I am glad that I am a member of mylot and I will continue to give my input for as long as I can. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Hi shreed
Hmm..since so many mylotters here come from different country, age and life experience, I think the best is just come up with anything you wanna share or ask For me, I respond to the discussion about anything that I can respond, usually about preferences, ask suggestion and daily life. I love discussion about another culture or language, like "how do you call 'sister' in certain language" or discussion that ask me to share about condition in my country (how's public toilet there? How's bus fare, etc). I think we come from different culture, so it always nice for me to share about that culture
