Do you think that every college should be strict about the students attendance.
according to me if a student does not want to attend his class, he should not be forced to do so. without attending his classes he can stay at home and read his lessons, or could do his assignments.
Tell me what do you think about this??

Attendance is important to me, because if there were no attendance.. There would be no note-taking, there would be no participation in discussions, the student would be missing A LOT of material that is gone over in class by the professor/TA. And usually, if you miss a class when your assignment is due..You can't turn it in. Ever. They usually don't take late assignments, at least in my school & in my classes.
I think..If you don't want to attend class, why not take online classes? It's not high school, where usually you have millions and trillions of pages of "busy work" to do. Usually in college, you have lectures and discussions, and classes are usually shorter as it is; and what's covered is usually just what NEEDs to be covered, in my opinion. I don't have any problem with attending, though. I like being on campus, it has a nice feel to it. I like seeing classmates in person and seeing my friends on campus. I like it, and I think to me - it's a necessary part of my college experience.
I don't think that students should be GRADED on attendance, but I think that the student should feel the NEED to go to school.

According to me college is a best place where a student can be happy, there is no need to bunk colleges. I do not believe that attendance should be necessary, but the stdent must keep a good ratio of his/her sttendance.

I think that as long as they're getting their assignments done, and are there for the tests/exams, that should be all that matters.
When I was in college, we had lectures and work periods. The lectures were available online most of the time, so if you missed the class you could see the Power Point presentation in your own time, and the work periods were good if you needed to ask questions about the assignments or needed a computer, but if you were able to complete the assignment on Tuesday, after the lecture, the work period on Thursday is sort of pointless.
