Okay, I know there are discussiona aplenty on the idea of health care with passionate people on both sides. But does the government mean to tell us with billions of tax dollars in their hands and access to some of the greatest minds in the world that they cannot come up with something that will satisfy people on both sides of the argument?
Why is government run health care the ONLY option? Why do we have to trash the entire medical machine and do something different?
Couldnt there be some expansion of current programs that would help cover those who cannot afford it? While still leaving private insurance as an option? And for goodness sake LEAVE MEDICARE ALONE!!! Elderly people have enough trouble without losing the few benefits they have.
Isnt there a place where we can all agree on health care?

The health care in this country is one of the worse things. I believe everyone in the U.S.A should be covered. We spent billions in a bailout for big companies to help them out because of their own mistakes and now we can't give every single person in the U.S.A health care benefits. I really think instead of spending billions on those big companies we should off though about giving a good amount of money to every single American out there so that they could pay off all their debts and we could off had more money for the health care reform and other necessary things that we need.

Agreed! But it is too late for that the money is gone ne'er to be seen again and the economy has not gotten much better!

I dont think the economy has gotten worse. The economy has improved and its improving little by little but if the government would off done things in a different way they would off had a bigger improvement on every aspect of the economy but they decided to take it there way. The economy is improving a lot of places in Connecticut are hiring and even factories which is a big sign of the economy going up and also the Dow is rising little by little. I just wish the government would of gave atleast 10,000 or even more to people in checks so they could pay there debts and all the money the government gave to them should off been use to reduce or finish all your debts but i guess thats just my opinion.

First, they don't have billions in their hands...they just have a bunch of iou's that are obligated to pay out, and creditors who are getting a little antsy about weather or not we will ever be able to repay them.
But, putting that fact aside, maybe they just don't want to actually solve the problem? I mean, this way, they can keep revisiting it every year, throwing ton after ton of money around to all their buddies in the industry, make them richer, which helps them with their election runs.
And, ya, I think there is a place where we can all agree on....they need to get the actual cost down!! But, they won't do that, that will put a serious crimp in their buddies wallets, in their campaign contributions...
This problem has been boiling over since the 90's if not earlier. They don't want to solve it, or it would have been solved by now!

You know that makes a lot of sense! And the sad thing about it is while they do their little dance many Americans are at each others throats about it. In the words of Susan Powter---- STOP THE INSANITY!

Ya know what else is insane though...
Being locked into a job that is making a health problem worse, because you need the insuranse and that's the only way you can get it, and then, having a doctor who seems to rather you just continue along because that means big money coming to his bosses soon when that problem reaches the point where an operation is needed.
Your ability to afford insurance shouldn't be tied so tightly in with you employer, since well, for some of us, it might get kind of difficult to do that job if certain problems pop up!
And, the healthcare industry has there own mega giants popping up in it, one stop shopping centers if you wish, where the doctor's interests are so closely tied into the hospital's where you are going to end up at if the problem gets worse. They seem to find it more beneficial not to heal you too quickly!

No, there is not. This is not about health care, its about power, plain and not so simple. You have town hall meetings that prove people don't want the government running their lives, they are called activists, among other names. Then you have tea parties, they are called instigators, another name labeled. Then you have the million med march, doctors showing up in Washington telling Dorkbama it will not work. So what do you think they do? They go behind closed doors and make up a bill on their own that will control everybody. I hope that everyone of the these sons a biscuit eaters who vote for this thing are thrown out of office and the same thing that happened to the people who signed the Declaration of Independence happens to them, but in a more henious way. The people who suffer for freedom never get to see it to fruition but those who distort our freedoms revel in the outcomes. Excuse me Jesus, you can come back now, I'm tired of this life.
