is the no of resposes to any discussion boost earning in mylot?

Hi there Owl and good to see you lending a hand again I wonder why so many think that if others respond then they will be earning

I think it's because a lot of users have the idea that MyLot's earnings system is like a popularity contest. Discussions with more responses must be more popular than those that only have a couple of responses, after all...

To be specific, a discussion only earns you anything, I believe, once it has had at least ONE response. The more responses you get, the more people are likely to rate your discussion by using the '+' button and the ratings system (as it says in the FAQs) does have an influence on our earnings. The better quality your discussions, the more likely you are to earn plusses from those who participate and that will obviously have an effect on your earnings. As it says in the Guidelines, we are no allowed to 'inaccurately describe the earnings system'. The above are my conclusions from reading what information is already available in the FAQs and Guidelines, so I hope that they are not inaccurate! It is worth pointing out, too, that specifically asking for positive ratings is against the Guidelines. Your discussions and responses must stand on their own merit!

If you start a discussion and get responses then you have almost reached your goal. To make it into a discussion, which is what we earn for doing, you must get back and comment on those responses, otherwise it remains a question and answer and not a discussion.
