i have been visiting the library as of late and have been lucky because a new library has opened up near me and has a lot of great new crafting books. currently, i am interested in collage and have found quite a few books on the subject. they also have a lot of great crocheting and knitting pattern books too! do you go to the library for your crafting ideas?

Hi cher, we have a good and well stocked library here too and we need only to pay a minimal fee to be a member and we can borrow up to 4 books at any one time for a duration of 2 weeks. I normally go for cooking and baking books as this is my greatest passion.

I check the crafts books out at the library every 2 weeks. It is really handy to learn new techniques. I enjoy all sorts of crafts including collage, crochet, card-making,embroidery etc. I don't like to follow the patterns or projects in the books, but I like to see how things are done so that I can use the techniques to design my own stuff.

I don't go to the library as often as I used to, but I do like the craft section of our downtown library - it has lots of great craft ideas books and knitting pattern books.

I have not being to the library in awhile, but they do have excellent craft book. My library is not close to my house, and when I took books out I always forgot to return them in a timely manner. After having to pay several fees, I just stop going.

I love visiting my local libraries. They have some different books in each library. The largest library in town has a wealth of craft books. I like to make collage pictures with my class of children. My learning support assistant gave me a box full of craft materials. I like the lolly sticks and colorful balls. I hope that you are finding some great books at the library for all your craft projects.

I don't go there for crafting ideas but I do go there often for other things. We get movies there, we get videos for my youngest son, my older son gets video games there. I get books for research for my articles that I write, and cookbooks and things like that. I am not much of a crafter but we do use the library very frequently for many different things.

I sure don't visit the library to get new craft ideas. It's a good way to research anything new out there. You have a good idea here. I'm not much interested in doing anything other than working with plastic canvas projects. I find it to be so relaxing and I can watch television at the same time especially if the stitches are repetitive.

I wish you could come to our library sale the end of this month. The library here is undergoing a ten million dollar rehab and will close down completely for 12-15 months. So, we have to sell all of the thousands of books in the friends of the library donation shop. Probably we won't sell them out and on the third day of the sale we are planning on giving books away for free. You would have a field day here. As it happens, craft books are some of our slowest sellers and we have shelves and shelves of them. Many will probably be among the books given away or recycled.

Morning, cher913....you are truly blessed having a Library close to you! I live on a small Island, for a while we had a "Mobile Library", a van that arrived full of books, every two weeks...so they choice was NOT large. Now, we do have a SMALL library, I support it with a membership, but it is also 5 miles away, and my selection for crafts is just as good on the internet! And I cannot tell a lie, I have a huge library of my own...books are something I have always gathered & saved.Have a great day...and Cheers!

I really haven't been to the library in quite some time. I used to go more when the kids were home but now I don't have the time to go.....although I did donate some books a few months back to their used book store....but I never thought of going there to get craft patterns etc.....that's a very good idea.

Library Books - A section of Library books that are good readers
Hi Cher,I love to go to the library and just sit there and read. I love the smell there and the peacefulness there. I have to honestly say, that I have never even thought to look up a book in the craft section. I am not too sure why, I guess I never really thought to. I love doing crafts of different kinds from creating gift boxes, sewing, quilting, wood burning, working with clay and pottery as well as anything else I can find to try. Recently I have started some Native American crafting too. I will now have to go to my local library and see what crafting books are available there. Just to let you know, you may have created a crafting monster here!:)

I have been going to the library for all my research since I was in high school. Now more than ever, it is the place to go to for not only crafting books but crafting DVDS! Ours has a DVD collection that features a lot of how-to disks for us crafting on topics such as scrapbooking, knitting, kid's crafts and quilting. I used to buy such books and videos but now it only makes sense that I use our local library for such projects and resources.

We just recently back just went and got ourselves library cards but since then we have been visiting the library quite a bit lately. I haven't yet borrowed any of their crafts books but I have seen them and there is a real nice collection, I will soon with summer over more than likely be borrowing some so I can try and find a crafting to possibly get into. I also want to check out their collection of cook books for some winter baking ideas...the family and I have been eating a lot of the same foods lately and I am looking to possibly get into something new.
