I mean really read the rules or should I say term and conditions .I will admit that I usually don’t because in my exuberance and enthusiasm to sign up I usually just press I do .
My question stems from a discussion I wrote recently regarding my non-receipt of earnings which I though were due even though I was inactive for while .Many of my respondents quoted from the terms and conditions and were able to bring some amount of clarity to the situation .
I am grateful for their help but it showed me that I needed to start reading these terms and conditions before I sign up for anything or at least read it now that I have already signed up .
Now my question to you is how many people actually read the term of conditions before they sign any document and it doesn’t have to be a website, it could be the fine print on a contract ?.

Hi ronnyb,
I really never read the terms and conditions before signing up MyLot,until one of the MyLotter highlighted to me one day as I am responding to someone topic about cooking recipe.
After reading the terms and conditions, I am more careful before starting my own topic for discussions. Only certain things can be discussed at MyLot here.
There is once I actually started a topic about my earning at MyLot, and on the next day my topic was deleted, then I just knew that 'never post any discussion about your earning in MyLot,it is prohibited too'.
So I am telling myself, next time before signing up to any websites,it is best to read the terms and conditions first.

No, I didn't read at the time when I signed up but I saw a lot of mylot posts about the rules and I know that they are pretty hard on everything! I'm not really enjoying this kind of hard rules but oh well, it's a paying forum I guess they can be a little more extream.

Btw, I think I did read them once but I'm not 100% sure because it was so long time ago. I wish we could edit our posts or atleast request it. That way I wouldn't need to write this extra comment on my already existing comment that is not longer than 1minute.

HI R onnyb, I know i don't pay enough attention. I did read the rules of mylot but things like that go in one ear & out the other or maybe i should say eyes instead of ears. Now when it comes to signing something i am a whole lot more careful. tHAT FINE PRINT SO MUCH OF THE TIME CAN PUT U IN A WORLD OF TROUBLE IF U AREN'T CAREFUL. tWO OF MY FRIENDS HAD TAKEN OUT INSURANCE TO HAVE SOMEONE STAY W/THEM if they got disabled. Neither one of them read the fine print brcause they were shocked to find the person they got to stay w/them had to be licensed. They were both very upset about that. The salesman should have explained that to them but the sorry thing didn't. SO EVERYBODY READ THE FINE PRINT.

I actually just read it in passing then signed up because I wanted to give a reaction to a discussion I happen to came across and then became inactive for sometime. Until one day I wanted to earn some extra money and came to know that I can earn here in Mylot. That is when the time I read the terms and conditions, the do's and don'ts so as to not violate any thing and have a nice stay here.
I just hate to read so the long terms and conditions which seems to be generic in so many sites so most of the time I just read it in passing.
It is really good to have mylot users to discuss with to better understand some rules which one might not know.

I didn't read the terms of myLot before signing up. In fact, I don't have the habit of reading the terms before signing up a website.
As far as I konw, the terms of websites often contain some rules and helpful answers for members, especially for a newbie like me. We can often konw of a website through the term of it at first. Of course, the terms of myLot is useful and helpful too, which can help us make some more money if we follow the rules and start a discussion as they recommend.
The reason that I don't like read the terms is just for there are lots of similarities among all websites. It may be a waste of time if I always read them carefully.

Well it seem the terms and condition of mylot are really important because they tell you how mylot operates .In addition there are many do's and don'ts that it would do well to observe especially when it comes to flagrant disregard of certain rules. Many discussions have been deleted because of this.

Hi ronny. No, actually I didn't. I just skimmed through them instead. LOL I did however read the guidelines, at least when it comes to the discussions and photos. I don't bother with blogs, so I didn't bother reading those. LOL
It's always a good idea to at least skim through them. Otherwise you may not know what you're getting yourself into.
Happy mylotting!

I did read them when I signed up. That was over 2 years ago. I may need to take a look and see if things have been changed or updated.

I am very familiar with the MyLot terms and regulations now! I admit that when I first joined I did not take the time to read them properly, I had a quick glance and got on with it and when a couple of my discussions were rejected and I asked other members why I was informed that I had broken some rules and I was guided to the guidelines area. I could see where I went wrong as soon as I took the time to read them and now I urge all new members to go there first to avoid the disappointment of deleted discussions and loss of earnings.

Hi,
I do read and browse thoroughly always the entire webpages and its contents before I signup.Without reading the terms and conditions of any website, if anybody proceeds to signup, it may end up into complications. This is my experience so far.Thanks. Happy mylotting.

I don't tend to read the terms and conditions for websites. The only time were I would just skim through it would be sketchy sites or sites that pay me to do something. (You can never be too careful.) I don't remember if I read the Terms and Conditions for MyLot though. I might have just read through the FAQ pages.
As for things in print, well, I always read those since it'll probably have a greater effect on me than on a website. (Most of the time, unless its a Pay-to-do-this type of website, I don't give my real information, so I don't really care about the terms and conditions as much.)

I normally read the terms and conditions/FAQs before I sign-up but not every line. I skim over the lines/features and focused actually on the Do's and Don't's. I think I have to re-read the terms again to make sure I understood correctly. I don't want to be in violation of anything and certainly hope to keep my membership in good standing. Contracts of course have to be read, mulled/thought over before signing them. Fortunately, I really don't have a lot of contracts that I need to sign except for my utilities (water, electricity, internet and phones).

Honestly, I only browse the terms of service agreement. If it's a stable website, then I usually don't read it - like Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, Facebok, and other trusted websites and also those of Microsoft, Adobe and McAfee. I just trust those websites or company that I even bother to read their TOS. However, if I am suspicious about the site or it might scam me, I read each line carefully. I don't want to regret joining them in the end.

I did read the terms before signing up for myLot but didn't understand all the small details. Once I got involved with discussions, after figuring out the concept, I was comfortable enough to finally start a discussion. Have to admit that I don't always read the terms when joining other sites. Most are rather lengthy and I am too lazy. When it comes to signing a contract, I do read the fine print.

Hmm, looking at date when signed up for MyLot.....sorry can't remember. Even if I didn't. It wouldn't matter. As they have change since then. (BTW...I tend to read terms of service and such on any website I sign up to.)

When I first signed up mylot, I really didn't read the terms and I just signed up straight, I figured it was not a big deal so I didn't really e.ven think about it.

no i did not. I plan to use common sense and learn from my and others mistakes. Probably I should have read it, but they are too long and has lot of legal terms that I dont really want to go through.
Without going through the terms, this is what I have learned with just a single faulty post.
1. no referral links
2. no promotion of other money earning sites
3. no suggestive words
4. meaningful discussion, no poll like discussion
5. responses in details, no yes or i agree posts.

I hardly ever read the TOS but I guess learning from your mistake I should. If the companies and web sites that make these TOS would put them in laymens terms and maybe shorten them by a few thousand words they might get read more often. I don't know most of the TOS is wordy lawyer talk if you ask me. I suppose one of these days it is going to come back and bite me.
