i can say that i am popular in my elementary and high school years because there are lots of students at the same school knows my name, maybe because i joined the supreme student government in high school which i won every year. I was also the president of pupil government in my elementary years and i can say that i do good in school when i was still in my elementary years... but in college, i was tired already with studying so i ignore my academics and engaged in socializing outside school activities. i've got lots of friends from outside our school rather then friends from inside our school that is why i am not popular in college.

It was my dream to be popular in school when I was a small child. To accomplish that dream I had to work had. I was always first in sports & dance which made me the number one over there. After all it's said that if you have powerful vision, no one can stop you from accomplishing that. But sadly the college days got over. But after all the gates of memories never closes.
Happy Lotting

Mhm. I suppose you could say I used to be quite the popular guy in my school days. Every person in the school knew who I was, not in an infamous way, but a famous way! :D It was great. I suppose it was because of quite a lot of factors, some of which could be, as you say, great interpersonal skills, outspoken, all-rounder; a lot of things. Yep...I sure miss those days, but I will say this - those were the best years, so far! :) Another factor to realize is that some people are going to be jealous of you and might try to cause you trouble, that's when you know you're really getting somewhere haha. But of course, if you manage to pull them to your side as well, then all's great :)
It's about how you project yourself to others. It isn't necessarily dependant on what 'special thing' you might have, but displaying whatever you have in a way that people appreciate it, and I don't mean lieing or stuff, just, being yourself keeping in mind how someone is going to react. Just be a good person :)
Well, those were my 10 cents on the matter, well..maybe 20 cents :D

No, I'm definitely not a popular person in school. I am very unpopular. I think what makes people popular is their personality and their ability for making friends and if they are "good looking" or not. They also need to be good at things that are "popular" with other people. For example, being good at chess won't make you popular, but being good at basketball will. Even though I think that chess is a much more challenging skill to master...

Yes, people who are good at basketball are more popular than those students who are good at chess. That maybe because playing basketball need five people in the game while chess only need two people.

i could say that I am popular in my school. Many classmates and schoolmate I have known, even on the higher level. I am very friendly person.
Aside from that, when I was in High School. I am a varsity player, that time, many students knows me well.

I was always popular for being the quiet kid. In my school you could ask just about anyone about the quiet kid and they would know who it was. So In that sense, I was very popular. Of course this isn't what you mean, butIt is my answer.
Becoming popular in the sense you are referring to would require people skills. That is just about it. the more people skills the easier being popular will be. It also helps to have a talent that you are known for, genius artist, great baseball player, best tutor in the world, anything.
Popularity never made sense to me, though. This is mostly because I'm an introvert probably. I went to school (until recently) to graduate, adn learn a few interesting things on the way.

I'd guess I'm somewhat popular around school. Well, maybe not. Known is a better word for it. I'm mostly known for being generous and a silly skill. It's this funny noise I made up one day while I was bored. Well, I don't think it's so funny anymore, but it makes people smile.
An important ability in being would be... My best guess is adaptability. Being able to easily become friends with whatever social group.
