I went to the bank to pay my credit card today and on my way out i saw a dude selling pin buttons. I am a fan of those buttons and i remembered a memorable time when i gave my fiance one which said something pretty funny. After a few seconds i realized I had a big smile on my face walking alone and the people walking opposite my way looked at me in confusion. I tried to stop smiling but it was kind of hard.

I must admit I am as guilty as you are - guilty of smiling to myself.
It's sad that I have to use the word 'guilty' but I use it intentionally because the reality today is that people don't do that anymore.
When you walk down a busy street, in a busy city, regardless of where you are in the world, you'll notice that people are too busy to look around and nod or smile at each other - let alone at themselves.
The norm is to look stressed and pressurised - so much so that the sight of a person on his or her own, and smiling - is enough to get people worried.
As for me, I don't care. I am on my own a lot; so remembering happy moments and smiling as the memories wash over me - is a treat I give myself.
Keep smiling to yourself, please :)

lol! I get that a lot. Everytime I think of something funny or remebered something, I smile or even laugh without knowig it. People sometimes stare at me, that's when I realize that I have been smiling on my own.

yeah a lot of times. i'm th type who likes to think a lot especially when i am alone that's why i smile a lot especially when i think about the funny times when i'm with my friend. i guess i would be smiling alone often alone these coming days since i just migrated to manila from zamboanga city, my province. got no friends here so i guess it's a little bit lonely here. besides, i don't know where to go to gain some friends since i'm not the gimikero type. in fact, i have a ready answer everytime someone catches me smiling. i'd say "i just remember..." . just be sure you're not looking at a person while smiling alone cause that might get you into trouble. lol!

Oh yes, I keep thinking something or the other and many times I have seen myself smiling. But never in public. While I go out, I keep myself composed, I do not want others to smile at me. hi hi

Yes, when something great happens to me, I catch myself smiling. This usually happens with something I call 'giddy walking'. Or a happy gait, almost skipping. Mind you, not a lot of great things happen to me, so this could be as shallow as a pat in the back (at work) or the prspect of a long weekend coming up.

Yes I have done this many times. Can also do this while driving if something funny comes on the radio. I love humor, jokes and life itself. I have also seen others smiling or laughing while walking or driving and just assume they thought of something funny or saw something funny. Happy faces, I love it.

Yes I catch myself smiling alone, it often happens to me when I'm on a vehicle we could "JEEP" here in the philippines when I commute, Its happens when I'm thinking of something that is a happy moment and suddenly I realize that I am smiling all alone ^^... I really think that it is funny that we smile alone. its not always a bad thing.

a lot! be it at the train station or in a cab or out of silence, i caught myself smiling. sometimes with people around and they will all see to wonder what was i thinking. things that made me smile from nowhere are those ive read in a book which was quite funny, crazy stuff that happened last night, or some remarkable punchlines. list could go on... :)

yes! I had it today when i was sitting in the classroom. I was looking out of the window and saw a guy with huge glasses. He remembered me of my uncle. I once was gone fishing with him and suddenly those huge glasses fell somehow into the water and it was pretty funny because he was really pissed for losing his glasses. And so I was having a big smile on my face in the classroom and everyone was asking "What are you laughing at?!" Thats when I discovered I had that big smile on my face. :))

Sure that happened to me many a time.
Would it not be need when all people would walk around smiling, and people shouldn't be confused about it?
It would be a wonderful world!

a lot of times, same as you are when i encounter things that reminds me of a funny and unforgettable memory it is really hard to keep that smile, so what do i do? i just don't mind the people around me, i still continue to smile. sometime i even nod a bit to those people who will see me, passing on the happy face. but this sometime makes you smile even more when the person you nodded too will give you a puzzled look thinking "she knows me... do i know her? form where?" then thing seems to be funnier by then. Just don't hide the smile, its not a crime anyway to smile.
