Vitamins,Food suplement Necessary?

Hello there, Since i was a child i used to take vitamins or food suplement because i am weak.How about you?Is vitamins or food suplement really needed?Please share your ideas.Happy mylotting!

hello hazelrose! and i am here again... well, maybe to some it is needed specially if it is prescribed by doctors... but for me, i don't usually take vitamins or any food supplements... sometimes, i buy some vitamins like vitamin e, but i am not always buying it...just depends on how i feel...hehe but when i was in highschool, i remember that i take this multivitamins for about a year straight coz it was recommended by my doctor...you know, i am a bit sickly during those days of my life... but now, i am okay and what i just do is eat right...huh! good day!

oh that's great! and should we add exercise as well? hehe me too, i will try to live a healthier lifestyle, i think i am lacking of exercise...huh! its my pleasure to answer on your posts and i wish you better health!

Hi ckyera,May be i am so dependent of my vitamins intake.But after reading some comments I've open my mind not to take too much vitamins or food suplement.I will go for healthy lifestyle.Balance diet and enough rest as well.Thanks again for always sharing and more power!

well i dont think you should take it regularly.personally i take multivitamins when i am under stress and cannot eat a balance meal.as long you ate foods in go,grow,glow category it never be a problem at all.eat those food in moderation less sweet and fats.keep living a healthy lifestyle.more power..

Even if you eat a good balanced diet, you still can not get everything your body needs. I always supplement my diet with a number of things everyday.

Hi dlr297,Thanks for your comments.Well really? Some said when you eat well balance diet no need to take vitamins or food suplement.But for me I really need that because i am weak.May be i will lessen my vitamins intake just a maintenance.Good luck and more power!

Hazelrose , They process the food we eat. and most of the nutrients are all gone from them, unless you are eating all raw foods, or all organic foods you are not getting what your are supposed to from the foods that you eat

Most important- Omega 3 from fish oils and Vitamin D if you don't get at least 10 minutes of sun per day..

It depends, if you don't eat that much food you may need to take vitamins just to keep you healthy from the foods you lack in.

I don't take vitamin tablets regularly,I only take them when there is a deficiency which manifests through the ulcers forming in my mouth. Then I recognize there is a deficiency of nutrients from food so I need to supplement them through tablets. Two or three will be sufficient before the white spots vanish. I have heard that overdose of vitamins will cause vitaminosis which is also not good. So a balanced diet is what is required.

I never took vitamins or food supplements so far. It is always best to take natural food rather then supplements. What I believe is vitamins from supplements do not act on the body in the same way as vitamins from foods.It is always good to consume lots of fruits and vegetables which is sufficient for our body in terms of vitamins and other essential nutrients.

Hello hazelrose, like you we had also vitamins taken everyday when we were still a little child. I believe that helps a lot for a growing child...as of now, I take some vitamins but not often...cheers...

its not necessary if your eating food that contains vitamins an mineral which is much preferable.

I take multivitamins, calcium tablets and joint tablets and for me they are necessary. If I do not take them I feel tired all the time or my joints hurts some. I do not get sick to often and I must say I do not eat very healthy so I think the reason I do not get sick to often is because of the vitamins and supplements I take.

Due to my health complaint, i take vitamins.I've been advised to take vitamins for a few months and stop and then again restart.I find they help me with health problems i have.But I've read that vitamin E is to be taken 200 m.g.per day and not more.Similarly I've read that some vitamins are best absorbed by the body in their natural form.

Hi picjim,Thanks for your comments.After reading some comments I've realized that taking too much vitamins is not good.I will just lessen my vitamin intake,maybe at least 4 times a week.I will go for healthy eating habit balance diet and enough rest.And also be happy to make us healthy always.

i always had vitamin c when i was younger, then i stopped. i only take it when i feel that i am going to have cough and colds. i know that we cannot take as much natural vitamins from the foods that we eat, that is why i take some vitamins. i am taking vitamin e and calcium for my bones as i feel i need them most at this age.
