People have been debating a long time about whether the Shroud of Turin is truly an artifact of Jesus or a medieval forgery. Recently, researchers have used materials available in 14th century italy, such as a similar cloth and red ochre pigment. They have created a cloth with a very similar appearance to the Shroud of Turin, leading them to believe that it is not a genuine article. Furthermore, the Shroud was first mentioned in historical writing in the 14th century, and radiocarbon dating placed it around this time. However, the Shroud is known to have been damaged and repaired throughout its existence, and patches fixed in medieval times may have altered the results. Not only that, but the Hebrew University has studied the shroud and claims that plant and pollen residue indicates that it originated around Jerusalem before the 8th century. ^^^This was my paraphrasing of a recent news story about the Shroud of Turin. Im not sure what the answer is. What do you guys think?
