Yup chinese language is kinda hard to learn but simple one i think is still ok like every other language. Need to learn the basic first and if you put more times to learn you will succeed one day. If your friends around you also speak in chinese then you will learn more fast as this is how i learned my english -.-'' although still bad now but at least i can read and write some simple english to express myself:) Do not care if anyone laughing at you when you say wrongly and keep practice.

I'am a Chinese too. For me,to learn French is more difficult than to learn English. It is an involved process. Now I can read a lot of English books, but I can't do the same to French books. To me,It's too complicated.

I'm Chinese. Like all other languages, if you are exposed to it on a regular basis at an early stage, it is manageable to learn. I think that the problem for most concerning Chinese is the history and culture behind it. Because it is incredibly vast, it is difficult to get a grasp on it.
I do pride myself on being Chinese and knowing my mother tongue and heritage but if I compare myself to native speakers, I often feel ashamed. So yeah, it's pretty hard to learn for someone who hasn't been brought up on it but it is definitely possible and I would encourage anyone who has an interest in it to do so~ Cheers!

I love chinese language. It can be difficult if you want to master all the tones. Sometimes there are such tiny differences in sound but they mean completely different things. I've started to learn chinese becasue I'm very interested in this language but sometimes it can really drive me nuts. I still like it though and I keep trying. The grammar itself is quite basic and easy.

I passed my CET6 when I was a sophomore. My advice is that read classic novels as many as you can. I recommend Jane Austen's books, especially "Pride and Prejudice"(interesting and funny). Her writing is much easier than others(Dickens, etc) to understand.

Extremly difficult, at least for me. I've been working and living in China for 8 months now, and even with the complete immersion, I can still only speak a few sentences and know maybe 100 words.
I'm finding it difficult because I generally learn through reading - but I can't read characters (though I'm trying to learn), so it means that I can't use that process.
It's the tones that are really difficult for me. Being a native English speaker, used to having no tones, it's very difficult to try and speak a language that uses tones.
I can always hear the tones when someone else is speaking, but I haven't been very successful in using them myself.
I guess it'll just take more effort and practice.
