Hello Mylotters,I passed my driving test yesterday, so as you can imagine im very pleased about this (This was the second time by the way), and I have already got a car which I got for my birthday a few months ago, so as you can also imagine, im pretty keen and excited to get out driving in my Citroen Saxo!
However, the insurance for young/new drivers (Im 17 yeard of age) is ridiculous! Im a very good driver, and drive safely and cautiously all the time and do not take any unnecesary risks, and do not plan to now that I have passed my test. I do not play to do any joy riding or anything, just use my care for social, and commuting to and from work. Now there are young drivers out there who do cause accidents, and take unnecesary risks, I understand thats the main reason why insurance is so high for us new/young drivers. As im a good driver myself, I feel a little hard done by as im being penalized for theese other bad drivers.
I don't get paid the highest amount imaginable, as im only a Modern Apprentice, so you can understand, I want to find the best deal out there that I can, for my insurance! As there is also pass+, MOT, tax, peterol to pay for out of my small wages! Now ive had a few quotes already, some are absolutly ridiculous! Some are affordable at a real stretch (Around £170 per month), however the deposit they are asking is taking too big a chunk out of my monthly wage to even concider.
So im here asking you if you know of any reasonable companies that I can call/ get a quote from? Anyone in the same boat as me?Also I would like people to share there opinions on young/new drivers.
Well, ive rambled on enough for now, so please, help me if you can and discuss!
Have a nice evening,
Lee.
