i've read awhile ago that green leafy vegetables such as lettuce is among the top 10 risky foods, according to a study. if improperly washed, could contain the deadly E.coli and salmonella. there have been outbreaks reported, ranging from stomach aches, to disability to death. spinach and cabbages is also included. gez, and you actually thought you're safe by eating green leafy vegetables. think again..

Green leafy vegetables are still good for you. You just need to make sure you wash them thoroughly before you eat them. I make sure I was everything before I eat it or feed it to my family. You don't know who else has handled your food before you bought it in the grocery store.

ya green vegetables run the risk of infestations and pesticides if not properly cleaned.in fact a few cases of neurocysticerosis has been reported in our area due to intake of salads (not washed properly).the safe method to use green vegetables after keeping them dipped in boiling water with high salt concentration.it ruins the taste but its safe.others method is to wash them with ammonia but the first one is the best one.for salads etc wash many a times and peel off nicely.
