I started a new job this past Monday the 5th of October! This is my third day. Is it normal to be scared to go into a new job? I am sure it is and that is probably a silly question! I am having problems learning the computer system and answering hte phones scares me so badly! For the last two days I have answered some calls, but put them on hold and transfered it to someone who knows what they are doing. All my family and friends tell me to just be patient and it will get easier. I am a person who expects too much out of myself and thinks that I have to learn it all in the first couple of days. I am a receptionist at a doctors office btw, and scheduling patients still scares me, because I have no clue on how to do it yet, even though I have been showed two or three times. I just can't get it! I am a shy person to begin with and it is hard to get out of my shell. I have went home crying for the last two days because I am stressing myself out because it is so overwhelming!!! Any advice? Please help! Thank you for all that post! Have a great day!

Learning a new job is always stressful. Be patient and take one task at a time. Concentrate more on learning that, and then concentrate on another. Take a lot of notes! You can't possibly learn it all at once. Don't expect so much out of yourself. Everyone in the office knows that you are learning. You will find that after you do something a few times that it will become easier. Best wishes!
