Where is your favorite or ideal vacation spot?

My family got out a lot when I was a kid, so I got to vacation in the wilderness and mountains a lot. I would have to say some of my favorites are Sheep Lake, in Washington state, Mt. Bachelor in Oregon, and climbing Mt. Adams (twice) in Washington. Even though I was technically not on vacation at the time, I loved my stop in Venice, Italy. I would go back there if I had the money and time to spare!
Where would you go? Where do you enjoy going? Do you get away to a summer spot on a beach, or is an isolated mountain getaway your type of enjoyment?

So far, my favorite vacation spot is the islands. St. Thomas specifically, but I like Aruba, & St. Martin too. This winter my girl and I are going to Antiqua. Maybe next year, I will have a new favorite spot.

GRRRR...St. Thomas...fond memories of that place...or lack thereof! My ship had a weeklong port planned for St. Thomas. The NIGHT BEFORE we pulled in, president Bush announced that we were going to war with Iraq, so that put the kaibash on St. Thomas for us. Instead, we busted our butt across the "pond" (atlantic ocean) to the Med sea and dropped tons of bombs. So instead of seeing St. Thomas that cruise, we stopped in Crete (sucked), Slovenia (where I caught the train to Venice), and Spain, which was beautiful. Still would have liked to stop in St. Thomas though...maybe someday... :)

I'd like to go to Spain one day. Maybe that will be trips I can take once my daughter is out of high school. St. Thomas is really beautiful so if you do get a chance to go, don't pass it up. The same is true with St. John, St. Martin. Go Go Go if you get the chance.

I would love to go to Venice someday and maybe get married there! I don't know if it will come true though when i havent even gone out of the country. :-( I love to go to the countries in Europe because of it's colorful history...but Venice, Italy is my top choice.

Venice is beautiful...rich with history. The people were really nice to us, and we just had a great time. Unfortunately for me, my ship ported in Slovenia, and we had to cross the border to Italy, then take a train to Venice, so we only got 4 hours there before we had to leave, but I loved every minute of it! Hope you can get there someday!

my ideal vacation spot is boracay,one of the beautiful beach in the Philippines.so many foreign go there.i love the beach and smell fresh air.i also love dancing in the midnight everyone partying in the beach.another vacation spot is batanes,it is a place in the northpart of the Philippines it is an island,i love the scene of views,the people are very kind,hospitable.i love their cave and unique houses made of stone.because most typhoon came so most of there houses is made of stone with cement.
