How is rating done

Well friend, few days back, I found a star which was just on side of my username showing red star with 9 number. When I put mouse point on that it is showing my rating out of 100. 2 days back I was one full day, I did not log in to My Lot. After that inactive day, I log on to find that my rating suddenly changed to 8.
I am bit confused with this rating system, does my lot team will give this rating or we members will give these ratings. Does this ratings show any effect on one's earnings. Please do guide me friends.. leave your comments..

Hi madhuvamsi,
Your rating is determine on how other mylotter rate your posts. It is doesn't matter if your posts is new or old. As long as these member doesn't rate your post yet, they can rate it. But due to misused the rating system before, we can now only rate a certain number of someone posts.
Your rating is effected your earning since it is counted on your earnings algorithm.

well akuler, my earnings did not come down but my ratings. Just for 1 day of inactivity. I did not understand, anyhow, ratings does make any sense in mylot. I do not know but did not liked it. Easily can be misused this feature.. Thanks for your views..
