I myself despise horror movies! I don't get why people like to watch them. It's basically just a bunch of ghosts appearing in some scenes of the movies. The rest of the scenes were just about weird events happening that can't be explained logically. As the movies go, actors were trying to scare us with the ideas of the ghosts, what are they like, etc. Then came the ghosts. Audience got shocked by its sudden appearance supported by the extra loud sound effects. So tell me. Why would you enjoy horror movies? Or are you with me?

Good question! I think horror movies are a good distraction from real life. You know these situations and characters are not real - but it's fun to get spooked out - and forget the stresses from real life for a change. I'm not into horror movies with definite visual monster characters . . . but I am into the mental ones where you're psyching yourself out!

ok, I understand that it's a good distraction. What do you mean by definite visual monster character and the mental ones? You remind me of Scooby Doo, which is the only ghost related series I watch. LOL!

Visual monsters . . . like Freddy Kruegar or Michael Myers - monsters you can "see". Sometimes they can be corny (creepy looking, but after a while I just laugh). Mental monsters . . . you don't actually see any monsters, but you conjure them in your mind . . . like in Blair Witch Project. I let my imagination run away with me if I let it.

Okay I get it. About the visual monsters, I remember back then looking to the right and left from my bed to make sure there's nothing watching me sleeping because of the horror movie I saw in around 2001. It creeps me out! As for the mental ones, There's a mixture of different monsters that pop in my head as the story goes. i think i'm beginning to understand what you mean :)

I love horror movies. I don't find them to be scary, but they are fun to watch. The movies that actually scare me are the psycho thrillers. You know, the ones about the crazy people? I find it terrifying that there are people in this world that actually have those mental illnesses.

Now that you mention those psycho thrillers movie, I wonder. Why on earth would a director and script writer produce something like that? I mean where did they get the idea of such psycho people. What were on their mind? How could they create a horrible human being and teach an actor to act saddistic?

I think they make the movies because they know that there are many people like myself that can't wait to watch them. It's easy to find ideas for these movies. All you have to do is read past newspapers and reports. Take the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" for instance. Based on a true story. The movie "The Strangers"? Based on a true story. That's the scariest thing in the world.....something that could actually come true.

well my friends aren't exactly screaming when the ghosts appear, so at times I find myself screaming over something that isn't scary for them. That really is embarassing too! Gosh, horror movies are just not for me..

I wish I could but it just gives me a bad feeling everytime I sit for few minutes watching it. I can only laugh after the movie ended though, after we talk about something else. LOL!
