alright for the rest of your life 95% of you diet has to consist of one of the above foods. which would you choose and why? for myself i'd rule out chocolate straightaway because i hate the stuff. (nasty brown rubbish) i'm vegetarian so bacon is out. sadly i would be restricted to 1001 different things you can do with broccoli.

hi jb7800 oh my but I could get so sick of broccoli
for the rest of your life, and bacon would sooner or later
get me with its high fat content, and I love chocolate'
but a steady diet of it would probably kill me with its
fat content too. so broccoli it is.oh but I have 5 percent
so broccoli and chocolate, that would do it.

I'd go the broccoli! Not only does it contain the best balance of overall nutrients out of the three and would keep me helthier for longer, it's baby trees man..... BABY TREES! The remaining 5% of my dietary allowance would be made up of seafood and rabbit.

I'd choose broccoli too. i think it would take the longest to get sick of it - bacon would be too greasy and chocolate would be too sweet.

Hi cutepenguin, the blue rabbit ate too much chocolate again, she should know better when she professes to hate it but usually hates it most when its made her sick. Brocoli though is the most well thought out choice of the three as can be enjoyed in so many healthy and delicious ways.

Id pick brocolli. I like the stuff. I like chocolate but i can only eat a small amount until it starts to make me feel sick. Same with bacon, they both taste great at first but after a little bit it starts to make you feel gross. So brocolli all the way!

pretty much anything that consist either mainly of sugar or mainly of salt and fat will make you feel that way. i don't eat bacon (i've tried the veggie version btw and it is fine if drowned in plenty of ketchup) but do eat chips and the like and there are only so many you can eat before the queasiness sets in.

I'd have to go with broccoli too. Chocolate would taste good at first, but after a week I would get sick of it. Sores would start to appear in my mouth and I would probably develop a case of diabetes.
As for bacon, I love the stuff. Yet, all that grease and fat would tire me out soon. My insides would be loaded with cholesterol and I'd end up gaining 50 lbs. A couple of years down the road I probably would be a heart attack victim. Not a pleasant future if you ask me.
Like you said there is a variety of ways to use broccoli. Can we add toppings to it, or is that not allowed? Either way I would get sick of any food that I had to eat for the rest of my life besides rice and chicken, but that is not an option. So, I'll go for the healthy choice. At least I'll live a better life eating broccoli everyday.

I don't know what broccoli is. I've only seen it in the movies - never tasted it in my life... there's no broccoli craze around here, like in some overseas countries...
That leaves me with bacon (mmmmm... bacon...) and chocolate (mmmm... chocolate...).
None is very healthy, but I think I could enjoy bacon much more than chocolate if I have to eat it constantly. After eating chocolate a few times in a row, I seem to get tired of it. That's not the case with bacon (mmmmm... bacon...).

I know, but you don't give me much to choose from: just bacon and chocolate (as broccoli, again, does not exist for me - can I you offer a more common vegetable instead? like leek or something)...
Eating chocolate won't get me too far either as I would be bouncing off the walls from the sugar energy.

Now that's not what I exected to hear from you there Stvasile, I thought you'd go with the chocolate for sure. Trust me you wouldn't like brocoli as your mother wouldn't know how to cook it properly and would probably turn it into a kind of soup. Saying that some people do actually turn it into soup. Of course the soup would naturally need the addition of lots of herbs as brocili tends not to have much flavour, especially if boiled. It is passable if stir fried with garlic, or lightly steamed for the shortest of times, but anything more and it turns into inevitable green mush.

Get this, at the Minnesota State Fair this year they actually had chocolate covered deep fried bacon on a stick. Ewwwwww!
But I am a chocoholic to the heart so chocolate is my choice.

Our State Fair has all kinds of fried things on sticks.
We've had various candy bars as well here.

your country does not have the monopoly on truly revolting foods. we've managed to develop not only the deep fried mars bar but also deep fried pizza. you might currently have the edge with that abomination but i'm sure we'll catch up.

Bacon will be out with me because of the fat and it causes chloesterol. Chocolate has a lot of benefits. I can't remember most of them now but it does have a good bit of good things about it. Broccoli is a vege and has the most benefits as far as I know of these three. Besides, you can do lots with it.

I'd reluctantly choose the broccoli. I love chocolate, I hate bacon (most of the time) and I like broccoli OK. But I plan on living until I'm 94 and I don't think I can do that on chocolate (lovely brown nirvana)...

Since 80-90% of my life is already done, I won't be all that worried about the health issues, and since I loathe broccoli, that's all to the good. So, a toss-up between bacon and chocolate. I love chocolate, but even I find it gets a bit much after the first three bars, and since I love bacon almost as much, and bacon isn't quite as unhealthy in excess, it would have to be bacon.
Oh, must go, my eggs and bacon are ready. Yum.

Oops, missed the 5% bit. If I have to choose one of the others for the 5% I'd probably go for the hateful broccoli on pure health criteria, but if I could choose anything else at all it would be either tomatoes or mandarins, because I like both and I wo0uld certainly need the vitamin C or the remainder of my life would be nasty, brutish, and short. Your question is very Hobbsian.

Our chickens have the run of the middle paddock, are hand-fed breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea - bread, lettuce, or laying mash (my other half is slightly nutty) - and are kept till they die, long after they stop laying, which makes the cost analysis a bit haywire, but hey!
As for the poor little piggies, I'd prefer it if my bacon came from something bovine, but alas!

Frankly it's a pitiful discussion and I already answered my choice between chocolate, strawberries and some other unmemorable thing last week.
What I do for my friends. There's much more fun to be had in the hairy chest interest you know, but I've gone through that one.

If you need somewhere to send the chocolate you don't need, do feel free!
I would say, for preference, chocolate. But unfortunately, I am diabetic. So if I ate NOTHING but chocolate for the rest of my life, the rest of my life could be pretty short!
So I would have to say broccoli. But then, if I could only eat broccoli and nothing else, I'm not sure I want to live long.
Ah, someone pass me the chocolate!

Well to me pitting brocolli agains bacon and chocolate is unfair to broccoli. I mean I like broccolli and all, but I am addicted to chocolate I wish I found it disgusing, I would probably be 10 pounds lighter, also bacon is just so tasty to me. I can't eat a lot of it though because it gives me a tummy ache, but I love how it tastes. I don't think I could live on broccoli and I would love eating the other two, but they would probably kill me.

Hi ladym, the rabbits off hopping somewhere so you're stuck with me I'm afraid. I really think the only solution here for you is to convince yourself that brocoli does indeed taste like chocoate one day and bacon the next and eat it blindfolded when there's just too much brocoli to face.

Chocolate ( dark for me as I do not eat much in the way of sugar), then bacon would be my second choice. I eat broccoli but in no way could eat it every day.

Well now that depends on what you think healty is. I know our major problems are caused by sugar and white products procesed foods and not animal fats. And there are non smoked bacons which have NO nitrates. But since this is all hypothetical, what does it matter.

well i am a veggie and i am pretty healthy in spite of not bothering to watch my diet in the least. [finishing banging on about the virtues of a meat free diet]. actually i think whatever your diet is provided it is balanced you will be fine. i suppose it could even include bacon [poor little piggies]

I know brocolli is good for me but I could not go 95% of the time. Bacon smells great but I know how bad it is for me and I don't eat it that often. But, chocolate is my iltimate favorite thing. The truffles and more exppensive some stuff. I would have to go with the brocolli. And have the chocolate afew times now so I think I could handle it.

My thoughts exactly. A small amount of the best is better than a large amount of trashy brand.

i would definitely choose broccoli cause of its high anti-oxidant content. though i like chocolate but it is too sweet and i can't eat that every day. unlike broccoli it is safe to eat everyday and actually good for health if i eat that every day. i only boil it and then it as it is.

yeah i think that boiling it will just lose its nutrition to the water. and i need to drink that water i boiled the broccoli with if i need to get all the nutrition of this vegetable. and steaming seems to be the best option. i don't exactly if that is the same case with stir frying. does not stir frying in a way deplete the vitamins of the vegetable. but if it is quick stir fry i think it is still okay.

Hi hotsummer, if you are stuck with nothing else but brocoli to eat you really should think of different ways to approach it, as the boiled approach could get pretty boring on a daily basis. Steaming is actually much healthier as it retains more of the vitamins. Srir frying it too is a good option as you could take some of that addtional 5% the rabbit is offering and add some garlic and spices to the wok. I don't really think grilled brocoli would work too well though.

I would definitely have to pick chocolate! It is my ultimate guilty pleasure favorite! There's nothing exciting about broccoli so that would be out. Bacon is good but too much grease and salt would be an undoing. Chocolate wins hands down!

Excuse the rabbit, she's temporarily lost the plot. Now I haven't had bacon for two years now as there has only been smoked available in the shops for some reason which I don't like. I quite often fancy a simple bacon sandwich with red hot English mustard but it is not to be. I shall have to come up with some interesting discussions for my Greek life style section tomorrow.
Have you popped in there at all yet wlee, after hours of effort it now sports a genuine Greek avatar who is open to the highest bidder, on the proviso they don't like lobster.
