Dear MyLotters,
Share with me what is the best food you have ever cooked for yourself and your family.
As for me, I guess my best cooking food is related to spicy food.
I like to cook curry chicken, rendang chicken, tomyam soup and spicy asam fish.
All the pastes are easily grabbed in the supermarket and I just need to add bit more ingredients to make the food taste more nicer and delicious.Yum Yum Yum !!
Today, I plan to cook green curry chicken for dinner. It served best with steam rice.
Do drop me a note. Thank you.

I can't claim to be the best cook in the world but in my own household I am! Anyway I am the only one cooking in my house so who else is the best cook? At any rate all the food I have cooked have been appreciated by my family. I can't really specify which has been the best so far. Nevertheless when it comes to cooking Spaghetti I think not only my family but even my friends have hailed me. My Healthy Spaghetti is made of white meat, mushrooms and selected veggies. The secret to making it palatable is a special all purpose cream, "Alaska Crema". I can't detail here the procedures but suffice it to say that whenever I serve my spaghetti every one will be asking for more.

I always make my own spaghetti sauce to make sure it is really healthy and free from unhealthy additives and food colorings. My family and my friends say it tastes much better than the ready made sauces in the market
Have a nice weekend

Hi Salonga,
I really hope I got the chance to learn how to cook spaghetti from you.
I am not good in cooking spaghetti, not to that up level yet.
There is once I try to cook my homeade mushroom sauce and eat with spaghetti,it taste not bad.It has been more than a year that I never cook the mushroom sauce again.
Do you cook your spaghetti sauce youself or buy the ready-pack from the supermarket?

HI Salonga,
What kind of spaghetti sauce that you make? is it tomato paste or milky type?
So far, I only make the milky type sauce using mushroom as one of the ingredients.
But for the tomato paste sauce, I always bought the ready-packed from the supermarket.

I haven't done a lot of cooking in my life and most of the food I cook are mostly my favorite. I think that I would be spaghetti. What I do is to put a lot of carrots in it and then lots of cheese. This discussion made me realize that I should learn more recipe to cook so I can brag about it. ;)

shia... I love to cook spicy food too, but I don't really use the pre packed mix. I usually blend it from the raw material of chili, shallots, garlic and stuff. My best ever food is the assam laksa, which I have not fail for once to capture everyone's tummy.
I also like the lemak chili padi (similar to the green curry) which is one of those traditional dish from the Negeri Sembilan of the Minangkabau. I love this curry, and will normally add in cabbage and pucuk paku.
Nice to hear you love to cook too, and I am sure it's a blessing for your family.. as people say, to capture a man's heart, capture the tummy first..

shia.. me too don't have the luxury of time to cook.. all done during the time when my girl has the mood for her long nap..
every time when she had a long nap, I will do up something.. just like today, I manage to bake a cake, cook some herbal drink, and also boil some soups..
That's all when our child is in their sweet dreams ya..

Hi Cwong,
You are a great chef....even homemade all the spicy paste. For me, I am lazy bum,I just grab the prepacked mix and cook them at home.
That is more easier for me as I don't have so long time to be in the kitchen as my son will look for me anytime when I am doing my cooking.
I never try to cook assam laksa before and I don't even know how to cook. I did read from my blog that you cook this dish before and It makes me feel hungry whe I read your blog that day.
Hope will have a chance to try out your assam laksa one day when I do travel to KL.

I make a really good sweet and sour pork. It is much better than anything I have ever had at a restaurant, the pinapple is so sweet and tasty in the sauce. I also make a really good butter chicken, which is similiar to curry chicken but uses some masala as well. I also make a very good manicotti. I like to cook all kinds of different things and I love experimenting and learning how to make many different ethnic foods.

Hi Lady,
Oh...you can cook very well.
I seldom cook pork nowadays. I am more into chicken and green vegetables.
As my son like to eat potatoes, I always cook it together with chicken and add some dark soya sauce into it.That is one of my son's favourite dish.
Butter chicken?? I am just wondering how to cook it?

Dear Shia,
Your family are so blessed. You can cook very well and variety
of dishes too
I personally only good at cooking instant noodle.
I do not quite like cooking, but I like eating. After cooking,
I won't enjoyed much my own cooking, could be tired and 'oily'!
However, many years ago, I 'think' I can fry noodle quite well
with fish cake, prawns, chicken, eggs, vegetables etc. I managed
to do sweet sour fish, sweet sour prawns : 7/10 marks!
One thing I believe, you will cook well for your love ones.

HI Iriene,
You are also not bad,can cook well in instant noodle.
For me, instant noodle is the first meal I know how to cook. When I was small, I like to eat instant noodle as my supper. Add egg, vegetables and meat.
I just dumped everything into the pot and it makes a big bowl of noodle for my supper.
Sweet sour fish, another favourite dish of me. I don't cook well in this dishes. Need to touch up my skill.
Like what you said : I always try to cook well for my family, but still need to improve my cooking skills.

The best response I got was to a simple fish dish I cooked which was healthy and tasty. I put white fish fillets in a baking dish with onion, olive oil, dill, garlic, tomato, courgette, salt, pepper and lemon juice. Cover and bake in the oven - really lovely!

...Hi shia88, I don't cook a lot lately, when I was younger, my girlfriend and I would raise money for our church, by having dinners. One of my favorite things to cook, would be fried shrimp. I prepared them for my sister and her family once and she thought that they tasted better than the ones served at Red Lobster. Completely remove the shell of the shrimp, except for the small end. Devein the shrimp, rinse them, sprinkle salt, pepper and drizzle lemon juice over them. Let them sit for a while to soak in the seasoning. Then dip each of them in egg yolk, cover them with flour, dip them again in egg yolk, and press them in regular bread crumbs. Fully press them out, and deep fry. Unbelievable good. :o) My second favorite thing to cook would be a peach cobbler.
Send me a request, I'll get it to you. :o) Take care.

....Hi shia88, Yes, peach cobbler is a dessert. You need 2 large cans of sliced peaches, or the equivalent of fresh sliced peaches. One stick of butter, 1 cup of milk, 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of flour and a rectangular baking pan or glass dish.
Drain three-quarters of the liquid from the canned peaches, put the peaches in a sauce, pan with one-half of the sugar. If you are using fresh peaches, add a half cup of water and bring peaches to a boil, let them sit. Melt the stick of butter in the pan or dish, make sure the butter covers the entire bottom of the pan. Mix the milk, flour and remaining sugar together until well blended. Spoon the peaches into the pan, over the butter, you don't need the liquid from the peaches, pour in the batter mixture all over the peaches. Bake for 25 minutes in 350 degree oven, or until top is brown. Serve warm, or let cobbler cool. Enjoy. :o) Yummy for the tummy!
